My tips this week:

Glenrowan v Tarra - Tiges by 21 pts
Greta v Milawa - milawa
Benalla v North Wang - Benalla 60
Bonnie Doon v Bright - BD by 70
KV v Gbat - KV by 12
Moyhu v Whorouly - Moyhu by 18

Sounds like plenty of personality clashes have happened in the tigers over the last few weeks. It's a pity they have had to be made so public.
While I don't necessarily agree with the way glenrowan have gone about everything and the rumoured money they have spent to win 2 flags, I think deep down most clubs are probably a little envious of their ability to attract bulk numbers quality footballers and no doubt we would all love to have a long time club supporter/family willing to invest so much time and $$ into our clubs. The wheel will turn and another club will get their turn at the top.
Over my time in the O&K (15+ years) Iv seen Beechworth, Whorouly, Moyhu, Tarra, Milawa and now Glenrowan have periods of dominance and all have been at or near the bottom during that time too.

One would think that Kaine Herbert would almost be a shoe in for the medal this year.
Looking at the media votes maybe Sam Evans has gone under the radar and could be a smokey????

I'd have Herbert as favourite, but not a shoo-in. I'd imagine Matt Swindells and Jess Cosaitis will both attract a few votes. I expect Stamp to poll well again, and Evans should get a few, but he may suffer from having a low profile compared to other players. If anyone from Tarra was going to win it I'd want it to be McCormick, but you can't win the league medal from the back pocket. Glenrowan have had different guys stepping up each week. Matt Robinson probably most consistent, but Hansted, Scott, Fox and Potts have all had some great games.

Right now I'd say 1. Herbert; 2. Stamp; 3. Sam Evans.

Tips for this week. But my initial thoughts are that I am just amazed by how many of the tips are backing Glenrowan, and what is most interesting is the number of tippers that have consistently picked against Tarra irrespective of where they have been on the ladder. There would be some here who picked against them in Rounds 1, 2, 3, 5, 12 and 13 - Surely now they deserve favoritism???

The type of internal fighting that has been discussed so eloquently on this page is always reflected on the field. In all levels of sport no matter how many times people talk about it not effecting their game it always does. And it will tomorrow. Tarra also have much to prove and a win will guarantee them 1st of 2nd on the ladder. Tarra by 18.

In the other games:
Bonnie Doon by 45 over Bright
Benalla All Blacks by 75 over North Wangaratta
and Milawa by 60 over Greta

The race for the finals will get even more interesting as Moyhu will score a 30 point win over Whorouly and Goorambat will take care of King Valley by 10. This will leave Moyhu, King Valley and Bright all on 28 points with 4 rounds to go.

Big win to Glenrowan over Tarra. So who are premiership favourites now? I understand Tarra have a few out but god Glenrowan's oval was in shocking condition... So for a team that is known for playing crap in the wet/mud, the Tigers should be a favourite right?

Can only beat who you line up against. But lets be serious anyone who thinks Glenny were impressive today is taking the piss. Nige was the difference but the nut will be down the forward line alot less with when tarras midfield is %100.

Interesting round
Doon Claming Top Spot after a solid win and if they can claim victory against Whorouly and Gooramabat Top 2 will be sewn up

1st to 5th is set for finals but a real log jam for 6th Spot Between Bright, Moyhu and KV

Bright have both those sides in the next two weeks which will see some interesting footy all round

My Final Top 6 will be
Bonnie Doon
Tarrawingee
Glenrowan
Milawa
Goorambat
King Valley

They asked greta to have the game transferred to greta because of the state of their ground greta told them where to go, also heard they've approached greta regarding a merger to which greta also told them where to go

Have heard this too, Greta should probably have a think about it after the results from last weekend against them lol. I know Greta have a lot of history in the league and would want to be a stand alone club, but there has been a lot of great advantages and success for clubs that have merged - which is why North Wang should possibly be looking into it if they have no guarantee of a home ground for the coming year. I understand why Greta wouldn't want them playing on their grounds incase they chop it up, but it's not like Greta are in the top 6 and have huge winnable games coming up... They could have made some extra coin by renting their grounds out for the day!?

I'd say four teams, two footies, four umpires, two sets of goal umpires & two score boards would get very confusing - not to mention crowded.

Look at CDHBU, that's three clubs (six teams, three footies, six umpires, three sets of goal umpires & three scoreboards) in one... Look at how good they are now.

In the Hume League Brock Burrum have won two flags after only a short history after merging and Rand Walbundrie have played in a GF. I think it makes sense in small struggling communities.

Plenty of merger success stories out there, but given Glenrowan's rumoured issues and the rumour that the $$ are about to dry up... There is not much to gain from merging with them. Short term Greta would gain some much needed players long term, they would gain little. The risk of inheriting the other issues and inheriting their ground would seem to outweigh the benefits. If Greta go down the merger path they would be better to speak to someone else - with a more stable support/sponsorship base. That's my two cents anyway.

Greta would never merge with tigers would any o and k team want the issues they have.
Seems people you speak to are steering clear , yes tarra was a bit undermanned so a mate who played told me aslo glenrowans ground is boghole after Saturday's games.
Goorambat might be the dark horse for the run to finals

Our game was supposed to be at Tarra but was transferred to Benalla because of the bog hole. We play there next week though..

Well after speaking to a few Glenrowan people at the game on the weekend, they have all said that ever since this drama that has happened in previous weeks from the 'toxic people' (the actual term they used to describe them) have left - the club has never been better. People are happier and everyone is more united they've said. Getting rid of the sour grapes at the club has obviously made it more enjoyable for others which is what you want. They mustn't be struggling at all if they're winning games in the footy and the netball... I'm just saying what actual club people and volunteers have told me so don't go shooting off at me if you've been told something else.

And would anyone of you bright sparks like to hazard a guess as to why a club that has played off in the last 3 Grand Finals would contemplate merging?
Can't wait to hear some responses.;);)

My guess would be that if they were to merge, they would be the moving club.. Their club rooms are in need of a major update, the visitors rooms you might just be able to swing a cat... And I think the seats may have come from a McPhails dining setting about 30 years ago when they boys were saying "of course we do deliver". I'm only basing this on previous years as i haven't been out there this year. I'd be probably thinking that they need to upgrade their facilities but not sure if they have the $$ needed to be competitive AND upgrade their facilities. There are constant rumours that they want to merge with someone, it wouldn't surprise me if it was all bull anyway..
