It's interesting reading at the moment about which side has who out and that sides are not at full strength. In my time in footy it is very rare that you have all your players available through injury or unavailability each week.

It's an easy thing to say when your are not playing to the standard that you think you should be.

That's so true... It's funny how, come finals time, everybody seems to be available though :p

Bonnie doon to beat milawa this weekend, only because it's at the doon. Doon by 2 points

If bright can get back 4 or so players from the ones they were missing last weekend I think they can get the job done over glenrowan. Bright by a goal

Benalla moyhu game could go either way. No smith again for moyhu will hurt them, if benalla can tame moyhus midfield brigade I think they'll win by 3 goals

Goorambat to smash Greta by 170

Whorouly to easily beat north want by 150, could really blow out of hooper is kicking goals.

Any finally tarra will account for the valley easily by 70 points

Pretty spot on with that tip!
I think I'll dine out on that one for a few weeks.

I've only been watching the O&K for a few years, and I think this could well be the best season in a while - so I'm quite happy to be getting on the bandwagon.
Well done to Whorouly. I thought that Benalla had them accounted for, but it is brilliant to see that at this stage of the season 10th place can make the finals and that 3th place could miss out.

I'd like to concentrate on BD V's Milawa. On paper 2 v 3 - both with just a loss against the undefeated team for each of them should be the match of the round. But I just don't rate BD. The have won 3 close games against mid-tier sides (Bats, Whorouly and Bright) - sure there is something fantastic in a side that wins the close ones - however they just wont have the class of Milawa. It'll be over at 1/2 time - Milawa by 8 goals.

Bright v Glenrowan - this is hard to pick for all the wrong reasons. Both sides wanted to be top 2 by the break - but this is just a game to see who has fallen the furthest. My heart says the Mountain Men but my head says Glenrowan. Glenrowan by 4 goals.

I like the look of the Benella V Moyhu game. Seriously if either of them want to make the finals it is this kind of game that they must be targeting. Just like Moyhu V King Valley a few weeks ago - Proper hard hitting country footy without too much finessin'. I am predicting this will be the best game of the round and there'll be less than a kick in it all day. Benella by 2 points.

The Bats will have a good day against Greta - actually I think the'll put them to the sward and show that they are the team on the move for 2016. The bats by 100.
Whorouly will do the same to North Wang. My god it'll be a cold wet god-forsaken day at the North Wang oval on Saturday.
And I'll give Tarra an extra 20 points against King Valley (so Tarra by 120).

Bright had 10 of their best 21 out. And lost Sam Buckley in the second quarter. Not quite full strength.
And Milawa had 11 of there best and lost Ben Clarke in the second quarter to.
It's funny how the chronicle will name all the players bright had out but not once have mentioned everyone Milawa is missing. Be good to see the sort of footy Milawa play in the second half of the year when they get a lot of numbers back

I reckon Milawa will be too classy for Boonie Doon, Milawa by 30 points
Glenrowan still have too much talent and only need a few too fire to get them over the line, Suss to kick another 5 and win by 25
Benalla and Moyhu will be a good one, as Run Slim points out the loss of the leading goal kicker will hurt them, I reckon Benalla by 10 points
Bats far to good for Greta - 120 points
Whorouly same against Nth Wang but by 150
Tarra to be too slick for the Valley, however reckon it will be a bit tighter especially if the wet weather continues, still 50 - 60 points. The twos contest will probably be more entertaining!

Having seen Greta and Nth Wang in action - they are a long way behind, sad to see.

Who were the 11 best players milawa were missing?

Brandon Ryan, Andrew Hamilton, Brendan Gamze, jack hill, John Conroy, Ben Clarke, Michael Conroy, callum honey, Simon pane, Alex dunstin, Ryan hussy, Chris Oates. That is who Milawa have out at the moment. And lost Clarke at half time

If you're counting guys who are retired or no longer at the club you could say that Bright had none of their best 21 available  Bright's outs were considerably more significant than Milawa's. Milawa wasn't missing any of its best seven players (IMO) until Clarke got hurt. Bright had two of its best three out (Bond, Henwood) and a third who'd be in the top six (Gentile).

I dont follow this comp too closely but im told Doon very confident of being top 2 this season.Looking at team list im amazed they can stay within the points laws.No stars amongst them but atleast 8 from the north metro comps must carry points?Even noticed travelling recruits playing 2s recently would that be form, injuries or enforced selection to get under the points allocated ?Surely they will get within 8gls or are they just wasting $$$$.

If you think a full strength bright side will beat Milawa at full strength your dreaming.
It's just funny how all the critics have raved on about how good bright are but really they are not. It's sad no one can admit it

At what point did I say Bright would have won? I'm just pointing out the fact that every post you have made has been completely wrong. No one is raving on about Bright - I think most would agree they will be in a battle with Goorambat, Moyhu and possibly KV for fifth and sixth spots. Most of us thought Bright would be a top two team this year, but that was before McDonagh and Love left, and as has been reported, they had a pretty ordinary preseason.

Think everyone has underestimated the impact mcdonagh leaving would have. And then love to leave. That's two players that would of been top ten in the league and the mounsey brothers not returning for this year. Great to see Tarra up and about with some local talent on the flip side.

from what I've heard couple of the travelling recruits have had to play 2s because of the points system!

Tarrawingee to beat King Valley pretty comfortably. Only thing may make it close will be some weather.
Benalla and Moyhu will be a close one. Maybe Benalla to win this just... could go either way.
Glenrowan to beat Bright by 30 odd points. Should be a decent game and Bright had a win against them in the wet up there a couple of years ago. Will be hoping for a similar result. Still think Glenrowan will be too strong.
Milawa to beat Bonnie Doon. Should have too much run for Bonnie Doon. fair few passengers at the Doon. got a couple of good players but there is a few just making up the numbers. In saying that if they can pinch this game it sets them up for a top 2 or 3 finish which would be a good effort. Not convinced by them at all though.
Bats easily over Greta
Whorouly easily over North Wang also.

Not a bad round of footy. Looking forward to the end of the first whole round of matches to see where everyone is placed. Should give us a good idea who is who.

Brandon Ryan has retired, Hussey won't play again and wouldn't be in their best 10... The coach unlikely to play again after being KO'd in a night club
