just on another note something that i heard a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't the whole idea of the w***er Mackie saga was to get him away from North so he could play at Albury under his original O and M coach. Now that thats been knocked on the head i wonder where the waesle will go now.

Think u will find that the interview is on 2moro nite(Wednesday) there garn.
Another rumour circulating is that Dustin Burns and Mark Doolan may return to Birralee Park next season.

Heard the pres met with him last week, Burns and Doolan would be a huge injection but surely only the start of much needed recruiting

Yeah Trenny should hopefully be back for the lavi game, Cosy reinjured the shoulder that has already put him out this year so its anyones quess when he will be back, one D Thayer is a worthy replacement i would have thought though.

any idea when thayer becomes available? i thought he might have been right to go last weekend v raiders. i also hear j mccormick now won't play until the nth albury game in a few weeks. D porter back from susp, j mccormick playing his 1st game since being targeted in last year's GF, the war of words after the 1st meeting this year - should have a real edge to it that one

Sportsbet Odds

Wangaratta

Who does these odds? Maggies too short and hit with some injuries, the Hoppers massive unders, Roos Overs? $17 Im on board.

If I was a bookie this would be my board

Wangaratta 2.00

i reckon the current wang price at 1.50 is about right. Odds of 1.50, or 1/2, imply that wang would win the flag 2 out of 3 times from here. Around the money i would have thought. They are destroying teams with the best part of half of what will be their finals 21 missing

On exposed form i would have thought c/r should be clear 2nd pick based simply on the touch up they gave wang 1st time around. Even if wang had a bad day, the manner in which c/r got the job done suggests they are a real threat and the return encounter in a few weeks might tell us a fair bit more. It is pretty much write your own ticket about the rest

I believe he met with The President but is now having a meeting with The Raiders so called coaching head hunters and The Board
He missed the Albury job because they would have lost too many players if he was appointed.P Spargo is a pretty good plan B.He has also been clever with his sales pitch with Luke Carroll;almost has shamed him into playing anywhere else.I think Luke's job is closely linked with Jossy so that may prevent him looking anywhere else.

Im sure they are looking far and wide, to think they would just appoint Lambert "third hand" would be a joke, why bother looking in the first place, he was always there as a cantidate

In the GVFL tomorrow Rochester's "Tank" McPhee plays his 400th senior GVFL game. Anybody in the O&MFL been able to achieve this great milestone?

Reading todays paper re: Sansons trip to Lake, curious whether the Lavy's 2's coach 'Boobs' Hollard made the venture. No doubt shooting pigs and sinking frothies in the middle of the outback would have been right up his alley :D

You forgot to mention eating BBQ'd everything and talking copious amounts of sh!t.

Don't think 'H' joined the boys. What did it actually have in the paper?

It is usually a very entertaining trip and a welcome break from the training track etc... from what i hear this year was no exception.

Have managed to find some very powerful lamps in a well concealed cellar.

So Flowerpower feeling refreshed and spritely!

The Roos, although a tough run home, have played the type of footy we all know they can play.

Led in no uncertain terms by Rhino Ryan, the onballers have delivered the pill down the throat of the forwards which has piled on the goals. The backs, in seeing the great work done by the mids and forwards are finally being proactive rather than reactive and are walking much taller!

Get on board the roo train!

sat 16 august norm minns oval - wang v c/r, GF preview? c/r have now won 5 in a row starting with a towelling of wang. FP just might be right, the roo train seems to be gathering significant momentum

it would seem that the top 5 is now pretty much settled with rovers and nth alb going down last week. i thought rovers might beat lavi and stay on track to steal 5th spot but a big ask now. While most anticipated the nth alb fall from grace, it would be a massive blow for rovers to miss the finals - there's no doubt they thought they weren't far off it with their finish to last year, and they went out and recruited accordingly with norman being the icing on the cake. Have had their injuries but still very disappointing return from them
