Footy clubs need to bring in quality people, you can’t throw money at good footballers with poor character and expect the club to succeed, you see this time and time again. Geographically Benalla are positioned for major success, first thing I’d be doing is making a no drug policy, game day attire should be mandatory and everyone stays for a drink afterwards. Club functions are compulsory for paid players, you get the basics right off the field then you’ll be destined for success on the field. If Benalla don’t dominate the league and get at least 3 of the next 5 premierships then I’d say it’s a massive fail. But I can tell you from experience it’s bloody hard work, you need support, and selfish players will bring you undone.
🤣 you can talk!
If you implemented half of those things at your POS club then it wouldn’t be a barren waste land right now! Especially the drugs policy! And bloody rich you talking about bringing in footballers of poor quality. The only fail here is you attempting to give advice from your position 🤦‍♂️

Greta are apparently seething about Goddard playing against them today, instead of sulking go out there and enjoy the day, if you lose to the cellar dwellers that’s your own bad luck.

You won’t fill the trophy cabinet with second place.

Most ridiculous thing I have read. The Greta boys were pumped to play against a legend like Goddard. Unfortunately they played poorly and North Wang were absolutely pumped and played accordingly in the last qtr and a half to earn a deserved win.

Greta can’t expect other teams to take them seriously now, losing to a team that’s won 2 games in three years on the eve of the finals, put a line through them.

Just to get the topic off potting clubs.

I like how Bonnie Doon post their highlights of their games on YouTube.
It’s a great way to promote the club and I’m sure the club would take plenty from it with learning from the footage.

I’m not too familiar with too many other country clubs who do this on a weekly basis and post it publicly but credit to them for doing this.

Did anyone else see the video surface of the Benalla player downing alcohol during a game? There’s two big blokes with muscles painted on who play down back, it was one of them, not sure the name, they look the part but are both pretty raw footballers. I’d be kicking him out of the club, no room for this type of behaviour, especially when you’re on top of the ladder.

You weren’t complaining when Normo was drinking cans before and during games...

Why do struggling clubs turn down merger opportunities? The league won’t have reserves sides in another year or two, injury’s will hit and senior sides will be playing 15 players a side. NW needs to merge with Glenrowan, Moyhu and whorouly need to merge, king valley and Greta need to merge, wahgunyah need to join the league. Tarra and Milawa can stand alone as they seem to be first the first preference club for players in town. You do this and you’ve got strong teams, higher standard, better crowds.

You would have 200 netballers and 100 footballers with nowhere to play.

You’re a clown

Was today 3 wins on the trot for the Hawks?Must be more to it if the Coach isn’t being reappointed
I heard a certain bloke that once had the job is a bit disgruntled that he didn’t get the gig when the current coach was appointed. Rumour goes as far as him trying to sway young players his way to perform a coup d’etat.

Aside from that, i ventured out to the hawks nest to see if they could string together 3 in a row. Was never really in doubt and could’ve been alot worse had the hawks kicked straight.

Not so sure about the stray elbow from Lane-Gee on Stone-Berry though, Baxter could find himself in the strife he needs to get him to pull his head in, plays as if he’s some sort of star when really he’d be lucky to get a senior game anywhere else
