Ovens & Murray Season 2013

Is this a bad time to announce that it appears Albury fc have won the race to land SA country, all-Australian & 4 time premiership superstar ruckman Luke 'billy' wells for season 2013...? Currently playing with the big fella at Palmerston in the NTFL & he'll def have an impact at O&M level.

Good for O&M league to have this calibre of player coming in but would be good to see him and a few others head to weaker clubs and see a more even comp? :( who is going to win g/f 2013 Yarra or Albury:p

Suprised if its not Yarra V Albury- the big question is Fev can his deam run continue but fittness and luck with tribunals and so on makes me think Albury with a few recruits up their sleeve will again be back to redeem them selves. Cant help being impressed with their presents in the comp with great oval and their geneosity within the O&M.

Albury FC is far from generous, their major benefactor does support some other clubs & organisations though. It's his money & he can do what he likes with it, can't begrudge anyone for that :thumbsu:

Well I see this season as follows -
Albury and Yarra plenty of coin. 1st and 2nd won't matter.
Rovers, Magpies , Myrtleford and Lavi a bit of coin and hard work. 3rd to 6th
Wodonga, Raiders, Roos and North Albury. No sigings( except Aker ), plenty of youth and struggling to keep players. 7th to 10th.
Thoughts anyone?
And yes Joss does plenty for sport in this area but just gives a bit more to Albury.

Myrtleford in the finals? Not sure they've improved that much.

At this early stage I would say

Yarrawonga , albury, rovers, wangaratta,
Lavington, north albury, corowa, myrtleford, Wodonga and raiders

I can not see Corowa Rutherglen winning a game this season. Lane, Seymour to Wahgunyah, Mooney to Bairnsdale, Smith and Rhodes to CDHBU, Thomas to Rutherglen , Ainley Gadsen Tiller O'Shea Henneman all not returning. That's my mail and if that's true that is 11 of their starting 21 in 2012, yes they have picked up 2-3 kids but unfortunately being from the Region I hate to say it but Corowa Rutherglen has a very big battle on their hands!

Not sure on the info with Seymour to captain again in 2013 and Lane Vice Captain.:thumbsu:

Rhodes, Ainley, Gadsen and Tiller are all still in with a chance of returning as the club works hard to keep these key players.

Mooney, Smith, Thomas, O'Shea and Henneman are all big loses and the club wishes them well and are hopeful that some will return in 2014.

Our focus is to provide as many local players / juniors the chance to play o&m footy and build to something big!!!! We are still in need of 4 or 5 recruits and or the return of some former locals who are now at other clubs to help us go forward.

We are and will continue to work hard to win games and have success for the club and community and no amount of doom sayers will distract this group as we strive for success and COROWA RUTHERGLEN WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL!! It may take time but when the success comes it will mean a hell of lot more to the players, committee, sponsors, supporters and local community!!!!:spades::thumbsu:

Your information is off the map. Seymour and Lane committed to our club. Ainley & Gadsden are coming back. Henno, Tiller and O'Shea are not coming back. Smith has gone to play at district level. Thomas a great clubman has gone, with our blessing, to Rutherglen. We have lost six or seven players but have picked up at least ten new ones. We are in negotiations with a couple more top grade players. We have a great young list with our core of younger players with 40 or more O&M games under their belt. There are seven other O&M clubs in the same boat as us, playing kids and giving them the opportunity to play at the best level in the district. We cannot match Yarra or Albury in recruiting dollars so we have no option but to develop and encourage the best kids in the district to have a crack with us. We have a great club, with many new projects underway to greatly improve out facilities, including; resurfaced netball court, tripling the size of our under cover area, new coaches boxes (courtesy of Albury) and improved training facilities. We will have a very good year. RJ

Great to see a bit of passion and pride in your club.

Still way to early to know who will be and won't be at clubs for this season.

It seems to be the trend now to try and use the youth in the club and build from there. Just hope the young blokes are willing to do the hard work and stick around.

Well I see it this way . They may not improve that much but a few teams will slide down. It isn't in any order just a group thing. Clubs are hunting so maybe by the end of the month some may have landed a big fish !!

I've heard the Saints will struggle to win 3/4 games this year. Lost Wales, Mcintyre, Pavitt, Kite, Coombes, Harley Ryan was a gun he's gone too. I believe they might be financially stressed again!! Thoughts?

10 clubs with only two coaches as player/coaches(B.Holland,Aker) Non playing coaches or Co coaching is coming more of popular trend these days in O&M.

Who was the last Player/coach to win a flag?
