PAFC CEO Matthew Richardson

A call for unity.

Bit of a mish-mash of thoughts and ideas but it seems the club is wanting to build up Richo's profile.

Interesting that there is no mention of the PB Guernsey at all.
'Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson carries one lesson about his football club’s hardcore fans from the so-called “dark chapter” with the tarps covering thousands of empty seats at Football Park in 2010-2012: actions mean much more than words.'

What a frustrating article.

Everything Richo said sounds great. Especially the bit about words not actions.

The only problem is that his stint as CEO has come with lots of words and I can't think of a single action he has taken to show that he means it.

The constant referrals back to the "dark days", "basket case" and "tarps" continue to shackle us to that period

Why do you think the crow centric media keep pushing the same barrow

Just stop it

you would say that, you're just one of this lot:
'And there is a group – a loud minority – that would like to spit senior coach Ken Hinkley out of their jagged teeth and their club after a decade-long tenure that has failed to deliver a grand final appearance.'

My favourite part is where they compare the bold vision of "Chasing Greatness" to other bold statements like Brendan Gale/Richmond and JFK/Moon Landing (!) without even a shred of awareness that both those bold visions were accomplished while CG™ doesn't look like even getting off the ground on any of the metrics.

we exist to have charlie dixon become runner up in the coleman two years ago

Michelangelo Rucci has ‘penned’ a long wordy Club spin article heavily featuring the CEO and just published and distributed by InDaily:

Divided we fall: Keeping the faith for Power's premiership push - InDaily

It is too long for anyone to read other than those with the drive to examine every word written and reported on the Port Adelaide Football Club at this vital juncture in its 152 years.

The credit falsely given to Hinkley is thankfully brief yet still fanciful - a stetching of the truth in an unsuccessful prospecting exercise digging for diamonds in the Simpson desert of his thus far ten-year, 3650-day, 87,600-hour barren reign as senior coach.

There is a lot of spin about still existing ‘to win premierships’.

Then, two short paragraphs from the end of the article, Rucci writes:

The club that lives to an anthem from an INXS hit – “Never Tear Us Apart” – today finds its greatest challenge is avoiding fracturing over the faith being shown in Hinkley.

What a gross piece of utter bullshit. What a contradiction of the quarry-load of spin written in the plethora of paragraphs above it.

The Club’s ‘greatest challenge’, Rucci please note, Mr CEO please note, is winning a goddamn premiership!

Hinkley remains for an 11th year purely and simply as an obstruction to any premiership being played for … let alone won.

Proudly.

It's my one and only duty as a Port Adelaide member. Expect success, celebrate success and hold those who aren't finding it accountable to the best of my ability.

You make some very good points LR, but I'm hoping the `avoiding fracturing over the faith being shown in Hinkley' comment, is a pointer that Richardson knows kern's days at Alberton are coming to a close.

That line was the best thing about the whole article.

It's the first time they have shown they are at least listening, even if they aren't taking any action.

Junior Rioli = destination club

  • Player managers insist Port Adelaide is a “destination club” because of the reputation Hinkley has built as a coach who enhances and develops player careers. West Coast forward Junior Rioli is this year’s headline gain after Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley preferred Brisbane.

Do we want to be Asafa Powell or Usain Bolt?

One was a bloody competitive sprinter who was world class, the other chased, achieved, and outran Greatness.

It seems our PR team think Asafa Powell was as great as Usain Bolt.

We are a destination club for players who dont want the pressure of having to succeed and still get paid.

CG™ is the equivalent of the moon landing that was faked on a Hollywood sound stage.
