Really hope BA actually get a good younger coach in that actually understands the current game, won't play favourites and can read a game. Plenty of dumb stuff from players here and WC but coaching has been hugely costly, you can get annoyed at some of Giddey and Patty's play but the coach is the one either running with that or not pulling them for it.

We never looked cohesive on offence the whole tournament - just way too much individualistic hero ball going on.

It was inevitable that we could not shoot at that clip for the whole match.

It was possible. Serbia dont defend inside well which means space for our shooters which is why we were destroying them early but Goorj kept handicapping us with multiple non scoring lineups with combos of Kay/Magnay/Delly.

But as soon as the lead evaporated the game became much slower so it was easier for Serbia to defend = iso ball from us.

In a way it's fitting to go out like this. We have an absolute one in a million quarter, only to spend the rest of the game undoing it with the same dumb shit that's been happening these past two tournaments.

The amount of bad shots, passes, stagnant offence, crap defence, crap rotations (Kay and Magnay. Together. What a world), lack of anything from the coach as the lead slipped away...

Tough loss but we were never quite good enough. Gonna need to rebuild this team you would think find a new coach + lots of these players won’t be there next Olympics..
Giddey still young and he will learn from this tournament - we’ll have to build for the future from here hoepfully there’s more talent coming through…

8 of the 12 should be back in 4 years. They just need to find someone to replace Mills. We have enough depth to replace Ingles, Kay and Delly.

In NBA terms we're the Indiana Pacers, have some decent years here and there but never enough talent as say the 90's bulls or the Lakers or even the Celtics lately, to really say we're an actual title threat.

We’re better than Germany, Serbia and France at times.
But the coaching and players always hamstring themselves

I mean we're probably better than the USA, at times.
Our players hamstring themselves because they're not as good or as smart as NBA-calibre players.

Even if we get a supercoach like Gregg Popovich we'd still only make the Gold Medal match maybe 10% of the time, with this roster.
