What's the issue? The IOC said the gender test was passed didn't it?
Translation: "IOC approved, end of discussion". Sorry, but that isn't how sport as a product works.

The controlling body sets out rules, then makes judgments with regard to enforcing those rules. Then onlookers (casual and avid) form their own opinions about whether the rules are fair, and whether the judgments are sound, and that is all a legitimate part of consuming the sport.

Same weight, but she was taller and had longer reach.

It's a common advantage in boxing.
5'10'', just like the silver medallist. I don't think height was the reason behind the IBA's decision.

The onlookers you refer all have their opinions, yes. Problem is they are usually uninformed and uneducated opinions.

Given the IBA and IOC don't agree, it's obviously a bit more complicated than a matter of being informed/educated about boxing.

The real problem is people pretending there's no controversy when two major sporting bodies disagree about fundamental rules, as it gets in the way of honest discourse.

Look at the photo, mate (and then maybe check out the Olympics website). There's obviously not 16cm difference.

But thanks for telling me the height of a Chinese gymnast with the same name!

Roy and HG took the piss out of him mid last week and every now then throw in an excited NAILED IT comment about some event or something well done by Paris OCOG or the AOC.
Roy and HG have been in top form all Olympics.

The ABC Sport card table under the Eifel Tower will be sadly packed up for another 4 years Monday

That breakdancing is the lowest point in Australian sporting history.

Raygun is just the most recent Chris Lilley creation to get himself to Paris.
Thankfully Breakdancing will not be included in L.A but are pushing to have it included in Brisbane, Rayguns performance may have just killed that movement, no way us Aussies will want Breakdancing in after seeing that embarrassing performance!

With two live DJs, competitors engaged in three judged battles, which involved two 60-second routines each, before the elimination round and then medals.
But with competition stretching five-and-a-half hours even Snoop, the unofficial Games mascot, had seen enough and made his departure midway through the competition.

Has a refugee team member ever won a medal?
First refugee medal. Its been a "team" since Rio in 2016.

Early Friday morning Oz time in the women's Boxing 75kg class Cindy Ngamba lost her SF but won a bronze medal.

As Cindy Ngamba exited a thumping Roland Garros after a close, heartbreaking defeat in her semi-final, she was saluted by a crowd of nearly 15,000 people, many of whom rose to their feet in recognition of her success.

Despite a tenacious fightback after a one-sided first round, Ngamba was edged out of the women’s 75kg women’s division by the veteran Atheyna Bylon of Panama. But she leaves having produced one of the great stories of the 2024 Games.
.......
Her path to success is a lesson in resilience and grit. Ngamba was born in Cameroon but 15 years ago moved to England. She learned her trade as a boxer and studied at school and university in Bolton, and grew into one of the finest fighters in the Olympic ring. Along the way, Ngamba has been arrested by the British authorities because of her status as a refugee and taken to a deportation centre; she had to digest the prospect of being deported back to Cameroon.

Ngamba was eventually released and after a long, difficult process she was granted asylum. The 25-year-old has repeatedly sought British citizenship, her applications being supported by GB Boxing, which handles her training. She has repeatedly been denied

I blame literally everyone else in her life for that performance.
So many people with her ear, and nobody said, "Mate, you look utterly ridiculous and will embarrass not just yourself, your family, your ancestors and descendents, but your nation too."
So many people in the academic hierarchy who encouraged her unearned sense of legitimacy by allowing such fickle and useless studies to be rewarded with employment and status.
So many decision makers in the Australian Olympic Committee who should have done their job and researched her performance, yet allowed her to represent the nation.

Shame on us, Australia.

Disagree. That kangaroo move was literal hip hop.

For most people it will take days for this to sink in. Like a sprinkler.

Looking back in years to come, this will be the defining moment of Paris 2024.
