Why do none of our broadcasters ever employ her?
When she was 10's chief commentator she was blocked from working for another AUS network.

Then when she was WAFL chief she had other duties.

It's great to be able to hear her now (like in 2012) on world-feed when Ch9 has such woeful commentators.

She's done the world feed for a while I think? (was there for Tokyo)

It's a shame she's hidden away, but maybe it's for the best if it means she doesn't have to go full Straya! every race.

I know it's early into the meet but wow, how bad is the OZ mens swim team outside of freestyle. No qualifiers to semis in the 100m back and no finalists in the 100m breast or 400IM. At least the women have a more all-round stroke team

Not particularly. Outside of Kaylee Mc there are no particular genuine chances for the Oz women other than freestyle. But then again freestyle has historically been Australian swimming's strongest stroke.

Magnifique Marchand dominated won by 6 seconds.

The crowd went crazy when he walked bout but somehow went up a cog the last 150m.

It has to be a slow pool to just miss the WR.

Commentary absolutely butchered that 100m breaststroke call. Italian in lane 7 flying home, don't think he got a mention until touching the wall first.

Is the pool different? Surprised at how few ORs/WRs have occurred ....
Its a temporary pool and its only 2m deep not the preferred 3m.

The one they used for US trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis was 3m deep I believe. Chandler where the Oz trials were is only 2m deep.

Yep Lucas Oil Stadium temporary pool was 3m deep.

The pool at Lucas Oil is three meters deep, however, Olympic regulations leave wiggle room with a minimum depth of two meters. In addition, 25 and 50-meter-long warm-up pools will fill the other half of the stadium, separated from the main competition pool by a curtain at the 50-yard line.

The newly constructed Olympic swimming pool at La Defense Arena in Paris is 2.15m deep, which is considerably below the 3m depth recommended.
.....

One question remains, however. In a non-swimming venue, will a temporary pool be a fast one?

So what does a fast pool mean?

Simply, a fast pool would give swimmers the optimal conditions to produce their best performance.

But there are concerns that the pool at La Defense Arena is not deep enough to create such conditions. The pool is 2.15m deep, which is considerably below the 3m depth recommended by Fina, the sport’s governing body.

Why does that matter?

Well, depth is said to be one of the most important factors in creating a ‘fast’ pool. That’s because the deeper the pool, the less turbulence in the water, as waves bounce off the bottom.

Having a pool that is too deep creates a negative psychological effect, however, as being able to see the bottom of the pool helps swimmers track their progress over the coloured tiles and “feel” fast. A depth of 3m, therefore, has been identified as optimum for a fast pool but the Italian company, Myrtha, who have constructed the pools at the last six Olympics have unveiled a shallower one than usual at Paris, and one that is also below the requirements of 2.5m for major international swimming competitions.
