Sadly I doubt it. I'm sure the illness from trials has taken the edge off his prep. I hope I'm wrong but I expect he'll just be a bit off his best the whole meet.

I think it's having an effect for the longer races. Both M and W 400 maybe about a second off? Shorter races a mixed bag. Gretchen Walsh scary fast if it is.

Arnie did a rare Aussie female thing to defend her title, first one since Dawn and only 5 blokes have done it, Murray Rose, David Thiele, Kieren Perkins, Ian Thorpe and Grant Hackett.

But its becoming a rarer thing at Olympics for the world.

It was gastro at the trials - which he shoulda recovered from by now. He is better at 800 than 400 or 1500 though.
