Re: Who is not playing next year?

#urgent memo..Lions coaching staff.

Get Patricks mates/family up there with him....the Bears did it years ago with one of their young players from down here, who was reluctant to go....so the offer was made for the mates to go up with him...the Bears paid the 1st years rent on the house they lived in ..

I know this to be a fact....my son was one of those mates..

Onya, McM.

Get down to the Greek Club at South Brissie. Find Lions supporters. Get wives & mothers to cook for Patty. Serious.

BRISBANE Lion Brent Staker is emerging from a lengthy injury stint encouraged that his fitness base has been fortified by some heavy duty lifting ... of Patrick Karnezis' dinners.

The duo share a house with fellow Lion Xavier Clarke, and when Staker went to Melbourne to play Melbourne in this year's NAB Challenge and Karnezis didn't, Patrick's mother Sandra seized the opportunity to send rations north to her beloved son.

"Mum sent two big freezer bags weighing 10 to 15 kilograms of lasagne and bolognaise sauces and that sort of stuff," Karnezis said.

"He (Staker) came in when I was watching television and looked as if he was completely stuffed carryingthe meals. He didn't seem too happy because he was struggling to carry it."

He is from a tight knit greek family and has moved interstate for the first time, of course he is going to be a little home sick. Seriously though, it didn't seem a big deal to him when my Mrs saw him out with a few of the boys last weekend. Back from Tassie and straight out to the stocky, seemed to be enjoying himself.

Usual BF BS. If he hadn't had such a good start nothing would get said.

I know that his family were very emotional about him moving to Brisbane, one of our clubs recruiters was telling me about that recently. Mum did not want his to leave home :) But that is the case with most draftees who have to move interstate, pretty standard I would think.

Oh no, I hope those rent payments were included in the salary cap, otherwise the Bears reserves Premiership may be stripped (or at least have an asterix placed next to it;))

Re: Who is not playing next year?

Source?
Did he come out and say he was homesick?
Unless he had a tear rolling down his cheek when he said it, I wouldn't be concerned.
Is his homesickness the reason for his terrible form? .....oh wait.
If he is then the one change I would like to see is Stakes and Clarke back in the team.
Would help if he is playing with his housemates.

Re: Who is not playing next year?

yeah im sure he's homesick usually people who are wanting to go home don't sign a contract extention which just has

Re: Patrick Karnezis

Not sure where to put this, and it probably won't apply for the next year, but Patrick Karnezis is very home sick at the moment.

I think this guy spelled his name wrong...

It's "Cretin", not "Crete".

So homesick, he's staying put....

Nothing like being homesick as a reason to sign a contract extension.... guess you got that one wrong....

If he is homesick than why did he re-sign for another year with Brisbane. People where saying Rich was home sick and that he was taking of at the end of this season to go back to WA and he has re-sign for another two years.

I think enough people have had a shot at the OP with almost identical responses now.

Time to move on perhaps.

Angling for a mod job on the Brisbane board, are we? Some might say that you're homesick after being on Bay 13, much like a certain Lions' player... :D

Hahahaha, the kid is homesick of course, but he loves it at Brisbane.

Know the kid very very well, more chance of Neil Craig coaching the Crows to a win than there is of Patty coming home.

Might show him this thread, and we can have a good laugh at how stupid people are.

Your better than this guys, hes staying and most of you already knew that.

Did you miss the undercurrent of derision from most?
