Can someone please tell me what Patrick Smith said that was so wrong.

I find the whole idea that because North rejected re-location they no longer have a right to improve their position in melbourne (or even talk about it) very strange, but i think it was more the way he went about the interview.

I wouldn't say he abused him, but his childish yelling over the top to prevent Arocca answering the question is laughable.

The best bit was when KB asked a question (finally got a word in), Arocca started answering it, then Smith jumped in over the top of him, Arocca said "can I answer the question?", Smith screamed "No, you answer MY question!" and KB calmly said, "No I want him to answer my question, I asked first" and Arocca, seemingly bemused said "I am trying KB, but he is jumping all over me"

Glad Arocca stayed calm and civil, even if he didn't get to complete a sentence, he clearly displayed the difference between a professional and an amatuer.

I don't really understand Patrick's POV.

He seems to be saying that North Melbourne members will be disappointed with the NM board's decision to remain in Melbourne, and endure the financial hardship (at least in the short-term) that entails. I'm not a NM member obviously, but if I were, I know how I would feel.

I would have thought NM members would be more disappointed if the board had decided to move the club to the Gold Coast.

Obviously, had the club been moved, it would be in a better financial position, but it wouldn't be North Melbourne, it would be the Gold Coast and would, in all likelihood, have absolutely nothing to do with North Melbourne.

If North Melbourne goes down the tube then so be it, it will be no different to if the club had moved to the Gold Coast. As it is though, there is a chance that NM will survive and its members will have their own club.

The argument might have been there last year, and there were a couple of thousand extra that were probably once off sympathy members, but they are long gone now.

The North membership is now a North membership. Deal with it.

I just don't understand. If Richmond were experiencing trouble, all-comers wanted them to move interstate, I'd defend tooth and nail their right to remain in Melbourne on a level playing field.

I might not like the club, but it's part of the fabric of what makes and has made the game great.

I'm sick of hearing this sympathy member bullshit. I doubt there would have been more than 500 sympathy members in last years total. The extra numbers last year would have come from North members doubling up on their memberships or buying them for others.

Smith's modus operandi is very clear Biggie - he attacked, smeared and otherwise ran down Fitzroy at every opportunity (and whenever he could make anything up otherwise) when the Roys were still in the AFL too...

Quite aside from the fact that the Gold Coast people have actually acknowledged that their preferred position was a team of their own, not one they have to share with people from Melbourne.

He doesn't apologise for anything.

It was apparently the younger Essendon players that can't stand Skipworth becasue they were pissed that a more mature player made the senior team.

I find it funny that the families of some of these kids invited Skipwoth interstate to spend time with them so that they could show gratitute and well wishes for everything Skipworth has done for them. He has been a father figure for some of the interstate kids that don't have family around them for support.

Skipworth has had a massive impact into the form and development of kids such as Pears and Reimers and they all respect him highly.

As mentioned...he never puts his hand up if he gets it wrong.

Just about every Essendon fan remembers 2007 well and the muck he tried to rake over the Sheedy situation.

It was almost as if he was trying to organise a push for Sheeds to remain in the Essendon job by saying if Sheeds went, Essendon would fall even further than what they had done that year.

Well 2 years on, Knights as coach has proven to be a revelation. But, Smith has barely acknowledged this fact or even apologised for the incorrect statements he made 2 years ago. This is despite being...supposedly...an Essendon supporter in his own right.

Yes, north supporters really do believe that most of our membership is genuine. Why would we believe otherwise?

Attendances have been poor because north wasn't playing the most attractive brand of footy, and north has less of a supporter base than other clubs.

It's ridiculously naive to assume it's just the members that turn up to AFL games. Much of a crowd on gameday is made up of non-members. North has less supporters than other clubs so attendances are lower (which in some ways is a blessing, i can go to a game and actually get a seat. furthermore with fewer supporters there are less nuff-nuff's like you supporting my team). What north HAS done well is in their conversion rate of turning supporters into members, which is higher than most other clubs.

I don't really care about his opinion, he is entitled to it no matter how much of it is way off, I just didn't like his unprofessional manner in which he rudely interrupted Eugene and didn't allow him to respond to most of his dribble. It is not the way you handle guests.

If you don't want to talk or debate with them then don't invite or answer their calls and put them on the show.

He had his say and repeated himself over and over but wouldn't let Eugene respond to his raving.

Look, Patrick Smith did act like a tool and it was refreshing to hear Caroline take it easy for once against Brayshaw last night.

Fact is, the issues with North trying to stay sustainable maintain, no-one can deny that North are in trouble, they have admitted so. No-one can also deny they've been screwed on alot of things. If Patrick could ease up on being a knob and ease up on the negativity, he could make some good points about North's problems, but he didn't, and alot of the opposition to Wilson isn't so much that she makes up stuff (she does) but also her tone and constant negativity and a bit of balance helps reporting. Arocca is right though, North have made their decision so any talk about the Gold Coast roos is irrelevant and should stop.
