Paul Roos attitude??

Not sure why anyone who doesn't have a vested interest in the Swans (eg. supporters, players, staff) should really care about Roos' attitude or how he carries himself. The ones with a vested interest are the people he has to answer to, and if they don't see it as a problem, then it's a non-issue all-round AFAICT.

Correct - but the footy media and the main board would die if people carried this through. My only issue was that everyone sees that and says what a great character he is, where if Fevola or Davey or any players don't seem cut up enough at a loss everyone sticks the boots in.

You could say it was inconsistent or you could say, more realistically, that it's what 20 years of good conduct and years of excellent coaching results does for your reputation - lots of credit in the bank.

If Paul Roos was a ice cream he would lick himself all day. He loves himself more than Matthew Lloyd and Nathan Buckley combined. The first instance ive seen of a coach walking away from a sport because hes too good to stay.

That, or he cares more about his family.

I was in the Swans changerooms after the match and I can tell you that Paul Roos was not happy. He was in fact very angry and somewhat devastated at another loss to Collingwood.

People read too much into a five-second clip. I have seen many batsmen in the heat of a tense Test match crack a joke between overs. It doesn't mean that they aren't taking the game seriously, they are just letting off steam.

Paul Roos has been a great coach. He is only leaving the Swans because of a deal he made with his family to spend some time in his wife's home town and country, thereby giving his children the opportunity to experience different cultures.

If ever there was a well-balanced person coaching AFL it is Paul Roos. He will be missed.

Typical brave man thread started once your team has won, OP is guilty of this after most Collingwood wins because winning just isn't enough.

Roos gave an almighty spray at quater time and the players really didn't respond accordingly, by the time the final quater came around you had to laugh at how poorly Sydney were playing otherwise you'd go crazy. I don't blame him at all, in fact I think our players deserved to be laughed at after that "effort".

Love it when a top player plays poorly in a big game and people come from anywhere and claim he is rubbish in big games.

If you've watched enough of Adam Goodes over his career, you know he has no problem with performing in big games.

Farcical thread in all regards.

Agree- Paul Roos is probably the best example of pl;ayers playing for their coach I can think of in the AFL right now - in the last quarter he knew the game was gone, and realises that tomorrow is another day!

Paul Roos is the most down to earth, selfless blokes in the game. Absolute legend.

Malthouse is a C$#% and so are most Collingwood supporters.

:)

And so is the player who you named yourself after, the swans fans up there love him, but is is soft and overated and only won the Skilton due to a stupid voting system.

That or family does and always has come first.

Roos has always shown a laid-back nature in matches because he wants to convey an aura of calmness to his players, that small mistakes aren't the end of the world and that panic shouldn't settle in at the first major obstacle. At quarter time they'd made several large mistakes he'd been addressing during the week, when he was back to being his calm self, the game was all but over.

Needs to get his priorities right and start conforming to what the Bigfooty 12 year olds think is a correct standardised gameface.

Makes me sick to think that guys can get away with this sort of thing.

Bad coaching...should retire this yr.
