We're waiting on UF to do the draft. It's much easier, that way everyone available is there to see in the draft pool rather than having to look at rookie draft, UF free agent pool and delistings

I expect Burton to be an infinitely superior prospect to Sicily for basically their entire career.

Sicily and 14 trumps Burton for mine, but each to their own.
Paris, I had told you my concern with Burton. Like tw alluded to I wouldn't trade #1 for sicily, pick #14 coming back was a huge factor in the trade.
In regards to Sicily though, since he moved to the backline at hawthorn he averaged the second most marks for a defender (9.4) and the fifth most disposals for a defender (25.2). If he replicates that or improves given he is only 23, I will be very happy with this trade.

I’m remaining neutral in this discussion, but Drew I’d love to hear your concerns on Burton? I reckon he’s an absolute stud. I thought he was when he was drafted (slid massively due to injury in his top age year), would have been vying as a top 5 pick had the draft occurred before he got injured.
I know that’s easy to say in hindsight, but I’m am on record on a number of forums saying that from around the time of the draft.
Would be interested to see what you see in him that I don’t, that would be concern?

Not comparing apples with apples considering pick 14 came back
Certainly, and I am by no means saying Burton wont be a multiple all australian or fantasy gun. My issue with giving up #1 for Burton was the risk that he becomes a great fb/chb. Neither of those positions are fantasy footy friendly. With backmen my preference is rebounding flanker or those who may play forward/midfield minutes.
And yes I agree Burton does have more value than Sicily...but to me sicily+14 is worth more than burton

Yeah fair call. Personally I don’t see Burton becoming a traditional key position player, his offensive ability (whether it be playing forward or back) is his biggest strength. So the Hawks would be shooting themselves in the foot to nullify his biggest asset.
And again, by no means was I commenting that the other offer was better or worse (I’d prefer #1 over both to be completely honest).

Also, for when the draft starts, trading is allowed during the draft, such trades just need to be posted in here and then I'll re-allocate the players after the draft. Assuming UF doesn't allow me to swap someone's pick while they're on the clock...
