Seems that the Swans second rounder plus a swap in places between the Swans & Hawks in the third round is on the table.

As a Swans supporter I can't see a real issue with that. We lose our second pick but progress up the order in the third plus gain Spida.

Would assume that the Hawks will turn around and offer that second rounder and something else to Carlton for Thornton.

Sydney made the mistake of making their leadership group discussion on Everitt public. I truly don't believe he's worth more than a top 40 pick. If we deal pick 33 for him then we've been beaten in negotiations IMO. If we had been reasonably ambiguous on whether we wanted him or not, I think Hawthorn would have taken a third round. No one else is truly scrapping for him. He's a big risk and certainly not the difference between us winning a flag or not.

Maybe our 3rd round + an exchange of our 2nd for Hawthorn's 3rd.

I've read that its pick 33, and swapping of picks in latter rounds. I'm assuming its us downgrading, and that we're drafting Kennedy as F/S, so pick 40 is off the table.

So the worst we'd be doing is:
Gaining pick 33 for Everitt and downgrading 9 spots on rounds 4 + 5.

Very nice work Pelchen if something like this occurs. Holding out for a 1st rounder, Sydney offering their 3rd, we end up getting what we were realistically after come Friday.

I would say Sydney paid what they were really prepared to as well in a 2nd rounder.

In addition they will probably get him cheaper than an inflated PSD figure to ensure they were going to get him, so win, win
