Well he's certainly not at Black's level yet, I'm not sure who says that.
And like I said before, you must be sitting near his family. Because I don't hear that at all, he is like the unsung hero of kids where I sit. Thomas on the other hand, he gets complimented every time he touches it. Partly because he is an excitement machine, and perhaps people sense he will do something special, but it is quite excessive at times.
Look, maybe I'm slightly prejudiced because Pendlebury isn't a physical midfielder, he doesn't throw himself into the packs and tackle like Hodge, Sewell or Mitchell. It's probably something he's working on (nice tackle on Scarlett last Friday)
In games I've seen, he also has a tendency to coast around and not put his stamp on the game. He gets plenty of ball, but he does so unobtrusively, as you've said. I'd probably be more of a fan, if I saw him take the game on a bit more.
Maybe this will come with maturity. Maybe it's just a matter of style.
