Well he's certainly not at Black's level yet, I'm not sure who says that.

And like I said before, you must be sitting near his family. :p Because I don't hear that at all, he is like the unsung hero of kids where I sit. Thomas on the other hand, he gets complimented every time he touches it. Partly because he is an excitement machine, and perhaps people sense he will do something special, but it is quite excessive at times.

Look, maybe I'm slightly prejudiced because Pendlebury isn't a physical midfielder, he doesn't throw himself into the packs and tackle like Hodge, Sewell or Mitchell. It's probably something he's working on (nice tackle on Scarlett last Friday)

In games I've seen, he also has a tendency to coast around and not put his stamp on the game. He gets plenty of ball, but he does so unobtrusively, as you've said. I'd probably be more of a fan, if I saw him take the game on a bit more.

Maybe this will come with maturity. Maybe it's just a matter of style.

I think it's his lack of explosiveness that creates this perception. He looks 'smooth' rather than explosive. He seems to be casually strolling around all the time, which is why he has underrated pace. He's not afraid to get physical, he's 2nd at the club in tackles, and is about 30th in the league. He was third in hard ball gets last year for us, and would be right up there this year. He doesn't throw his body around like the hard nuts, but he's not afraid to put it on the line. I'm sure he'll get more physical in time, particularly when Burns and Obree are gone, and his role changes.

The difference is that Buddy has developed into one of the most dominant players in the competition.
Forget what I say. Glen Archer knows his shit. He said that Franklin is the best player in the competition.

Do you honestly think that this time, next season, people will saying the same thing about Pendlebury?

Judd and J.Brown might be just that little better, These guys have been dominant for more then one year. .. It will take Buddy a couple of good seasons to be compared to those two.

Disagree. I strongly believe in the NOW. A footballer is as good as what he is.
Rival coaches and players don't have sleepless nights, preparing to take on Buddy, based on what he will do in 2009 or 2010.

All that sort of talk we indulge in, about where players are rated is just a big load of crapola. Fun, but meaningless.
Someone like Mike Sheahan might rate Buddy behind Brown based on longevity, but that has absolutely no relevance to their current standing in the eyes of their peers or shutting them down in next week's game.

Buddy has one great season, Judd and Brown have been great for more then one season, they have the runs on the board. What will judd or brown do in 2009 /2010 ?

I rate Judd and Brown more then Buddy at this point, Buddy if he can keep up, he will be up there with Judd and Brown.

you're missing the point - right now who is the most damaging player in the afl?/

you'd be silly not to choose buddy

Brown hardly played a full good season in his career. Can't say he's over-rated, more over paid because of his injuries. Only 3 good games out of 9 this year.

Right now yes, but to say he his better then Judd or Brown is not quite right

If I had to pick a side, It will be 1-Brown 2-Judd and then Buddy.

I am not putting buddy down i think he could be anything
