dont get me wrong. there is A LOT to love about Perth. Weather, beaches, scenery in general. But shit. I see a lot of the world in my travels and to not be able to get amongst it on a Sunday night due to there only being ONE place open after 10 staggered me. and to be honest im wondering if i just was confused or missed something, hence this thread...

Perth tends to be quiet in winter. A lot of new bars at the casino has people frequenting there these days. It's really worth checking out - 24/7 as well.

Job market due to it being really shit elsewhere. But now it is also poo in WA, so currenty it's a case of locals moving back due to shit job markets and therefore needing to be close to family for social security etc.

Whole reason nothing's open on a Sunday night according to a guy working at a venue is because no one can afford to go out Sunday nights. 11dollar pints etc. wait and see. It'll be a ghost town unless they get in touch with reality price wise.

I bet theres plenty of reasonably priced joints around amongst the inevitably overpriced bars in touristy precincts.

Whilst I was living in Sydney I tried to avoid drinking at The Rocks, Bondi Beach, Kirribilli and Darling Harbour because they bump schooners to above $8, which is at least $10/pint.

I saw a few bands there, Superjesus who rocked and an Oasis coverband called Noasis who were pretty good but they looked nothing like the Gallagher brothers despite trying to copy their haircuts. Also saw a band with a bunch of hasbeen 80s rockers including the lead singer from the Choirboys who we ran into afterwards at the kebab place there.

One thing Perth does better than Melbourne is the "work culture".

Quality of my industry in victoria is third world standard compared to Perth.

Wont say what industry it is, but i have now learnt that more competition does not always equal better service. By a long way.

Except for food and entertainment.

Seems to me the best places to go for a beer in Perth are the run of the mill locals in the working class areas, that's about it.
