One thing that's definitely noticeable in Perth since my return is that the angry bogan population has continued to increase. From nightspots to bogan infested workplaces, people getting angry and wanting to fight people over small incidents where back in the day and over east a "your right mate" would suffice.
I love and live in Perth. I go out a lot and never encounter the angry bogan population everyone here talks about. Maybe its about the particular where's.
On a side note though, some of the hyped up bars are a bit baffling. Went to Ezra Pound a few nights back and that place is a hole.
Went to a WA State Premier League (soccer) a while back - $6 pints of Kilkenny and Stella. Nearly wept for joy.
But other than that, agree with most that has been said in the thread. I think the inertia is slowly being overcome. Probably just coming down to a certain generation of people retiring from their advisory roles or otherwise dying, which is letting in people who are less ********ed about liquor licensing and population density.
