Should be Colin's Coliseum, man had the cojones to build it, not some second rate stadium shoehorned into Subiaco that the WAFC wanted and what we would have got under a Labor government.

I think Colin should have the honour of tossing the coin before either the first match or the first Western Derby.

Supposedly the workers on it call it the Craypot.

Hopefully we won't leave it to the Dockers (Wharfies) otherwise it will become the Rock Lobster Pot.

Crown Stadium or... Packer Park
Surely 'Crown Perth Stadium' is the most likely naming sponsorship. Packer can pretend its his for a measly few million from his ashtray and sell packages in his walking distance hotels and scrub millions out of travelling collingwood fans right next door.

Its actually not that abhorrent of a name to be honest. Better than 'domain' or 'opsm arena' or some other ordinary grade pish.

I however will follow the tried and true perth way and just call it 'Burswood'

Typical WC supporter living in the past. Haven't been crays since the days they were tailed and sent frozen to the US. They are now Western Rock Lobster.

I bet Docker fans call WCE v Freo a Dar-bee. Make sure you don't crash driving around the turnpike whilst eating your devon listening to the Dockers lose on the car crystal set. ;)

Indian Pacific had the opportunity to change their trading name to Perth a few years ago but decided to stick with their crappola American moniker. Bad choice long term.

Yeah - WA has no big Eagles. I can see your point.

All the Dockers in Freo port eating their cantaloupe will be nodding their heads at your comment.

Cantaloupe is so west coast, we in Fremantle eat rockmelons with our Rock lobster.
We are happy that you decided to keep your crappola American monicker, suits a bland, inoffensive, generic, one size fits all organisation.
Dennis disagrees though.

I'm not a fan of sponsored names but have long figured it was fait accompli as a new stadium. In any case it's tenuous to suggest the Socceroos and Wallabies playing there once a year is going to put Perth on the global map.

You might be right. I guess it follows that renaming the MCG to BHP Arena might be ok? Not much global publicity from a couple of soccer internationals and a rugby game.
