Is anyone else a bit put off by the irregular sizes of the roof sails?
Surely they could've modeled the geometrical configurations a little more precisely than that.
If the stadium were a clock face, look at 11 o'clock and 6 o'clock.
Proabably not much. 2/5 of the ground is taken by WACA members. Then I think Scorcher members would take up most of the rest of the ground. Not many general admission tickets available in the first place.Imagine if the Scorchers did split their games - wonder if it would impact WACA crowds when everyone waits to go the PS game(s)
This isn't to do with the roof being directly above the seats - it's the dimensions of the sails, specifically the 11 and 6 o'clock ones as mentioned in the original post.I think it is the way the satellite takes the picture. Have a look at the Gabba, it is the same too. Buildings aren't directly above either.
The big BHP and Rio skyscrapers in Perth, you can see one side.
...this is the thread where we discuss all the minutiae like the inconsistent size of the roof sailsoh yep see it. who cares
We desperately need to get some real night games in Perth. None of this 530 start rubbish.
Didn't somebody say previously that won't happen because of the footbridge not being complete or something?Beast mode activated. Looks so good! Agree, hope we get plenty of Sat night games atleast in the first half of the season.

9pm game into Melbourne? Unlikely! They don't even like doing Friday night games in Perth because they can't start at the same time as any other venue. It wouldbe nice if a journo asked the AFL about whether Saturday night games could start at 710 perth time..
but on a Saturday night? second game of a double header? surely9pm game into Melbourne? Unlikely! They don't even like doing Friday night games in Perth because they can't start at the same time as any other venue.
For the record, the MCG has had $0 federal government contribution. State Gov, MCC and the AFL had supplied all monies so far.hopefully at the official ribbon-cutting opening, they invite former Premier and former Sports Minister, plus obviously the current Premier and Sports Minister, and no one from the Federal Government. No-one.
In fact, they should erect a sign saying:
Perth Stadium Federal Government contribution = $zero.
SCG Federal Government contribution = $x
Adelaide Oval Federal Government contribution = $x
MCG Federal Government contribution = $x
[insert Qld stadiums] Federal Government contribution = $x
yeh? I had assumed that there was some for upgrades. what about ballarat? oh, and kardinia park ?For the record, the MCG has had $0 federal government contribution. State Gov, MCC and the AFL had supplied all monies so far.
