Stadium advertising & promo ops out to tender:
Perth Stadium is fielding interest from big national and WA companies willing to dig deep to parachute their brands into the $1.2 billion landmark venue.

Stadium operator VenuesLive has advertised for “commercial partners” interested in sponsorship opportunities inside the State-owned 60,000-seat facility that will generate millions of dollars a year for taxpayers.

It comes as the stadium steadily rolls out a long list of tenders for $150 million of supply contracts for the provision of everything from alcohol and hot food to labour and IT systems.

The lucrative naming rights to the stadium are controlled by the State Government.

However, stadium chief executive Mike McKenna cited “good conversations” with businesses interested in securing a promotional presence inside the high-profile facility through one of the limited number of commercial partnerships on offer.

Harping back to how we are going to pay for this stadium here is what a Chinese professor had to say in the West Australian.
“Food, wine, our pristine environment and AFL are key messages to sell.”
'However, although WA’s tourism infrastructure was “good for now”, the Government needed policies such as “more car rental firms, more bus companies and better access and roads” that encouraged improved infrastructure.'

Bit of a shame if both venues end up with corporate names that change every few years. The major venue in every other state doesn't have a corporate name, but I guess in all fairness they don't get less than a third of their GST back.
That does depend on what you term "major venue". Is the Gabba more major to Brisbanites than Suncorp Stadium? Is the Gabba more major in Queensland Aussie Rules terms than Metricon Stadium? Is "major" the biggest (in which case University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston goes against the trend)? Or the one that also hosts the state's Test Cricket (in which case Blundstone Arena in Hobart goes against the trend)?

Major AFL venue I was referring to.

Looks like they would prefer a WA based company to name it and one with the funds to pay the heavy sponsorship. Here are some options- Multiplex, CBH, FMG, Wesfarmers, Westnet, Woodside, Pattersons Securities, Rio Tinto, Hamersley Iron, BGC, Cash Converters, Hancock Prospecting, SGIO, Timezone, Argyle Diamonds, Pilbara Iron, Firepower, Clough, Dampier Salt, Iluka Resources, South 32, HBF, HIF, Westrac, Burley-Sekem?

What about Hungry Jack's, you can't think WA without thinking of that flame grilled taste. The Whopper Ground would complement The WACA nicely, I reckon!

All of the ones you are thinking about are 80 years old. Sponsored ground names wasn't a thing back then.
