I wouldn't say that. Just one set of rules for white people and another if you're not.
To be correct one rule for first world people who will leave or can be made to leave and rely on their own resources and another for everyone else. This has been the same if lib/lab were in power and in most other 1st world countries

So is Dutton in real trouble here, or he'll just wait till the noise subsides?
Noise

Sec 44 may well be tested but advice from multiple very smart QCs is he will survive.

On immigration there is absolutely no suggestion he acted outside his remit. Doesn't look great but it's all fluff

On getting re- elected if he doesn't do anything else probably. This is a north Brisbane seat, the hillbillies and born against love him

That is staggering to me - you would think Dutto would have loved a photo-op with a guy with medals - the difference between the translators who imperiled their lives to fight the so called war on terror and the au pairs - the au pairs are blonde haired blue eyed french chicks
I've be involved with a refugee who I thought had a fair case no dice. Dutton has said no to just about everyone. Tourist u30 holiday visas are another matter

I did a case before the RRT for a Tamil Tiger on the basis he was political refugee- got sent back to his certain death. I stopped acting for them in Court.

Once again your imagination runs wild.
Hardly. Imagination running wild would be suggesting that inside his Ministerial office, he has a sex dungeon setup where he keeps a variety of dark-skinned women that he lured there under the pretence of intervening in their visa cases, with the shame of his depravity ultimately leading him to project the blame of the whole debauched situation on those women and by extension punishing them by enacting unduly harsh policies against people that share the same colour of skin as the objects of his deviance.

Allegedly.

Suggesting that Dutton is a racist behind closed doors is imagination run MILD. At most.

Leaks

I'll just leave this here....

"Mr Quaedvlieg rose through the ranks of the Queensland Police Service over 15 years, serving at a time when Peter Dutton, the man who would later become his minister, was also in uniform.

But after a decade and a half conducting investigations, Mr Quaedvlieg set out on what appeared to be an uninterrupted rise into senior leadership positions across multiple law-enforcement agencies.

He spent two years as an executive in the aviation industry and transformed the Commonwealth's National Crime Authority into the Australian Crime Commission before moving to the Australian Federal Police in 2006.

His work with the AFP was broad, from large-scale fraud to people smuggling and sex trafficking, before running Canberra's metropolitan police service as ACT chief police officer — a position that brought with it a public and media profile in the nation's capital.

The Border Force Commissioner is a "statutory officer" whose independence is protected by the Australian Border Force Act.
Sacking a statutory officer is rare and can only be done by the Governor-General, acting on the advice of the Cabinet.

Grounds for dismissal include that, "the commissioner engages in conduct that is inconsistent with an oath or affirmation he or she made", or that the person, "fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with" various orders or accountability rules.

In weighing its decision to sack Mr Quaedvlieg, the Government went to great lengths to ensure it was on solid legal ground in case any claim of unfair dismissal was made"

Seems so odd that he can't approve a visa for those Afghan interpreters that served with the Australian Army. The ones that we put in danger in their own country. FFS, we even know they can speak English - they were interpreters.

But some French girls wanting to illegally do paid work while entering the country on a tourist visa, because it is just too hard to apply for the correct visa in the first place, oh sure, wave them through because it is unfair and inhumane to make them fill in the correct paperwork.

Oh.. and if she had the correct visa that allowed working rights she might have to register with the ATO for tax purposes, and the employer would have to take out the proper workers comp insurance and all that. Injustice heaped upon injustice that the ruling classes would have to stoop so low as to get involved in taxation and insurance matters for the nanny.

Except at this stage we have evidence that suggests that skin colour plays a part in how Dutton intervenes in certain cases.

Then there were his statements about Melbourne and then South African farmers.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, not sure when the update is from but article on an Afghan interpreter not being able to get into the country despite a decorated soldier trying to go to Dutton from april https://www.frasercoastchronicle.co...in-fight-bring-interpreter-australia/3391327/

Highlight for sure:
UPDATE: A spokeswoman from Home Affair's Minister Peter Dutton has confirmed the office has made contact with Mr Scanes.

The spokeswoman said the advisor had a conversation with Mr Scanes and would be back in touch with him in the next few weeks.

She said at this stage the minister couldn't meet with Mr Scanes as he would be involved in reviewing Hassan's case and it would be a conflict of interest.

I'll just leave this one here:
=================

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/busi...l-workers/legal-workers-a-guide-for-employers

"Australian employers could face infringements or civil penalties if they allow illegal work regardless of whether they knew someone was an illegal worker. We expect employers to take reasonable steps to make sure they are not employing, referring or contracting illegal workers"
=================
Does this apply to au pairs on tourist visas?

This is the lamest "scandal" I can recall in Australian politics.

So the Minister intervenes to stop a young woman here on a tourist visa from being detained in a cell - as opposed to what? Humphrey B Bear intervening instead? Who else apart from the actual relevant Minister? lol.

And just 3 more votes and he could have been PM
