Hmm, ok. The reason I like him is because I distinctly recall him separating a potential fight in one match when it was clear the hotheads involved wouldn't, and someone would probably get fined/suspended. He didn't do it like a ******** where you are really just escalating events by shoving the opponent, but like he just wanted to get on with the game, no false machismo. In a 20 year old, I would have to respect that a lot more than being an `enforcer'.

All that said, we already have `Nice Guy' Warren, so I'd still lean to Koschitzke.

I don't mean that he goes about belting blokes. He does have a physical presence though. I believe you can be an enforcer without having resort to that. Petrie is far from being dirty thankfully.

The Merrett comparison is more about the way he plays CHF, his size, mobility and strength. Merrett was far and away a dirtier player however the 80's were a different era.

Koschitzke can play Ruck, CHF, and CHB. Petrie can play Ruck and CHF. Although Kossi has injury doubts, I'd still like to think he's a better player than Petrie.

Petrie could play CHB if needed. North need him at CHF now, and for the future it is also better to groom him into a CHF for the many reasons already listed by North fans. ie. leadership qualities, tackling pressure ect.. For the next 10yrs, better to have him CHF, than CHB, no doubt. Petrie is very effective in the ruck, great leap, and is probably under used here, once again due to our lack of marking options in the forward line. Petrie is more atletic than Kosi.

I havent seen as much as Kosi, but from what i can gather, i see him more of a ruckman/defender. He doesn't seem quick or skillful enough to create and set play up as a CHF is needed to do. However i think he will be a very effective mobile big man ruck option, who has the mobility to play CHB on the bigger opponents such as Ottens.

Petrie suits North. Its a tough choice as both are quality.

Many bad calls made earlier in the thread and a few of the posters would be no good as talent scouts. Kozchitzke is a game-breaker and Petrie is an annoying extra tall on his best day. Kozi miles a better player.

LOL at this thread.

There's some interesting reading under that search button.

Young players set to have an impact in 2003

The bad

"Good list but I think I'd add Ryan Lonie to the list. His last season was great but it was still his worst season. Someone here mentioned he looks like he will fill out to the Nigel Lappin type player."

The Good

"One name who will be rising star this year and brownlow contender next
Sam Mitchell from Box Hill"

The bad

"3rd year player - Ryan Lonie. Set to be the definitive wingman of this decade.

2nd year player - McGough. A footballer as opposed to an athlete who gets the ball like few teenagers have."

Kangaroos Wooden Spoon? ;)

as I always say, the team that has given their supporters the most value for money since I've been watching has been North.
