Crows fans seem think they have just pulled of the biggest heist in history...

But Ricciutto is still running the place like Kim Jong UnInteresting - the crows are accused of being a boys club especially post Tippet.
They get an outsider to be CEO. They get another outsider from the enemy in Walsh as coach. If it works they are geniuses. If it doesnt then the mob will be screaming to only select ex crowies because the outsiders were failures.
Agree with sentiment. While continuity is not essential, it is important. Would be nice if we had the same quality panel for three years.I'd be extremely disappointed if Walsh and Nicks joined the Crows coaching panel. I think continuity in the coaching panel for a year or two, with our young playing group, wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Yes, summed up well.Yeah ... sacking a coach with 2 years left on his contract in order to hire a second stringer who has never declared ambitions to be a senior coach. Yawn - wake me up if they poach Hinkley, KT, Koch, Boak, or Burgess. I was worried they were going to get Clarkson.
Is there any confirmation Nicks has a contract. If Walsh is to be senior coach how does Nicks break contract to move to the same level of employment?
Looking at the Advertiser this morning and there is close a full page spread on the three candidates. I think they are in a slight amount of trouble. They have nowhere near a coach they would have hoped to pick up after Sanderson was knifed. One would think that their best outcome is Dew as senior and Walsh as assistant. They do want Walsh, and they may have to compromise to get Walsh and take him as a senior coach. But then, they are going to have a problem getting an assistant coach to compliment Walsh. Even with Hinkley, it's taken him two years to really learn the caper.People keep saying this but he is getting more money and a higher position.
Walsh as senior coach and Nicks as senior assistant is incredibly underwhelming and screams as desperation but at least for their customers it will seem as they have at a minimum caused a huge distraction at Port!

Thanks. Just one thing, three year contract at end of 2012 takes him to end of next year (2015), or do I have it wrong? In 2011 he was on a contract for the following year (2012). You would think that a coach would have 3 year contracts at the very least for stability. So when he was promoted to defensive coach from development at the end of 2012, he would have been given another 3 year contract...which means he's out of contract at the end of this year.
As other posters have said, it's the game plan that makes these guys look good. Not saying that Nicks isn't a great defensive coach, but if Ricciuto thinks that he's the reason why Port Adelaide does so well he really doesn't have a clue and needs to rack up another line.

A decade is a long, long time in football though. Both Cornes boys, Cassisi and Shaun raved about his hand in their midfield development.
It's fair to say he would've had a fair degree of input into Gray's sudden rise too.
Easy solution, Hinkley recruits his old m8 Sando and we win the premiership that'll show em
