No prize for picking the theme of this season. Clement to IR, Sproles out at least a few weeks (quad), Boston Scott promoted from the practice squad.

Injuries a tired old excuse, Schwartz is a fraud, doubt they'll do anything midseason but he's got to go. Offence not completely horrible but they have no chance with a D this bad.

Surely they will offer Agholor as a trade for a CB this week?

In a bit of a bind at wr until DJax is back and even then, how long will he last.

That secondary was plain embarrassing today, desperately need an injection of talent.
Can't get anyone good though unless they give up something at least semi decent.

It really is awful recruiting as the secondary has been woeful for years. Even in superbowl year it took 40 points to win the superbowl

Thats the thing with Schwartz, the SB win helped disguise how shitful things really were, 9 times out of 10 the Eagles go home losers giving up that many points in that game. Given him plenty of breaks over the years, his ****ing sticks defence BS, lack of help over the back, players suited at saftey playing cb, but today was it for me, he can **** right off.

Not sure it's all his fault. Depends if it's decision(s) to not recruit any decent secondary players?

Agree, not all his fault but enough's enough.

Be good if a few of our offensive players pulled the finger out as well. I mean wtf was wrong with Ertz today? Alshon, keep your big ass in bounds & it's a td! Agy just isn't very good, esp deep. Our best receiver is now a rookie running back, go figure! Arcega Whiteside, WHERE THE **** ARE YOU?? & some of Dougy's decisions, holy dooley...

I'll shut up now, this one has been eating me all day in case it wasn't obvious;)

edit, well played Vikes, liked the way they went about it.

A strong front 7 can protect a suspect secondary by collapsing the pocket and not giving the QB time to abuse you.
But when you :
  • go in to the season with CB your weakest position and you are missing your top 3
  • lose DT's 2 and 3
  • generate almost no pressure except for 1 game
No matter how good your offence is you will struggle to win games. DC wears some of the blame, but you can only do so much with the cattle you have

There's more to it than personnel, that much is painfully obvious.

Schwartz pass defenses ranked dating back to 2009.

2009: 32nd (265 ypg)
2010: 17th (217 ypg)
2011: 28th (254 ypg)
2012: 14th: (223 ypg)
2013: 23rd (251 ypg)
2014 (BUF): 3rd (205.8 ypg)
2016 (PHI): 13th (239 ypg)
2017: 25th (241.8 ypg)
2018: 30th (271.2 ypg)
2019 (through 6 games): 28th (280 ypg)

Sounds like Darby & maybe even Mills could be back for Dallas so thats something but Mills would almost certainly see limited game time & is hardly the second coming.

I'm inclined to agree with rumply ..think it's much more Schwarz than anything. Darby and Jones were once considered high quality cornerbacks.

Using pass yards is stupid and archaic.

i believe we are top 3/5 in points allowed since 2016 tbf to JS but he seems unable to adapt and change when things aren’t going right. Corey Undlin needs to duck off as well. His time in Denver was clearly masked by highly talented players and not his development of them.

Groh has to be under pressure I think.

He took over an offence that under Reich was one of the best in the league. Since then they've been disjointed and struggled pretty much all the time. Most compellingly, we absolutely cannot score during the portion of the game he scripts. His anaemic offerings are a large part of the reason we're down big every week.

We have far too many weapons to be as toothless as we are. But we seem to use none of them to their strengths.

Last week I was angry, this week is more meh, today was really no surprise, keep doing the same expecting shit to change, ain't going to happen. But it's more than just onfield, they aren’t playing for each other, something is up.

Back to 0.500, but still a frustrating team.

Like, can we do anything good without immediately doing something crappy?

We kick the field goal to go up, we immediately give up two personal fouls on the next drive and concede a TD.

We get the turnover and a TD, immediately concede a TD (including a bunch of third down QB runs)

We score and force a turnover- fumble on the punt return.

I mean good god. This team just wants to lose most weeks.

In saying that though, our offence was vastly improved. Bills run defence was very good. And we put 200 yards on them. Best rushing day by yards in a few years for us I think I read. Howard and Sanders both good, especially Sanders and not just the big run.

Oh and the best drive of the season by far to kill the game. Pounded it down their throat over and over.
