There's 18 clubs for these guys to choose from and it's really us fans that emphasise the loyalty and emotional impact whereas these guys are motivated differently, such as benefits and entitlements and good work culture.

AFL clubs loyalty to a you (a player) is directly proportional to their investment in you, and they cut and dump you broken and finished without breaking a sweat. The cold reality is that these guys need to make the most of their playing careers and extract as much value as possible.

This is why I think Cerra should stay, that monster pay day in four years anywhere in the league with a bigger salary cap will beat any deal he can make that removes his free agency capability by moving.
