Ask yourself this. Paul Connors also manages Petracca, Oliver and Salem at Melbourne. Who do you think Connors will want to please more, Freo or Melbourne??

If Cerra really cared about Freo getting fair compensation he would re-sign for 1 year at Freo and so he and Jackson will both be out of contract in 2022.

Freo offer Jackson that Cerra money with Melbourne having no chance of matching.
I doubt if the club would entertain a 1 year contract. If he's leaving, there's the door.

Cerra is a good bloke, helping out in The Kimberley. Will be sad to see him suit up for Carlton next year.

Oh yeah, we all like to joke about the cliff West Coast are driving off, but we have our own talent apocalypse coming. Mundy, Fyfe, Walters - g-o-r-n. One succession plan, Valente, has dribbled away.

We have to pick tall forward stock, sure, but mids, as ever, are a PRIORITY.

Can I just say, Warner, Gorringe and Browne are being overlooked in the Erasmus/Johnson love fest. History shows you that if we don't go to the Assembly Line of Champions, the Champions go elsewhere. And they will win Rising Star awards. And they will excel. These are facts.

Walters has done nothing for the last 1.5 seasons and Fyfe has been average (which is still very good) so it's not as bad as you say. Mundy will be the biggest loss, but that is where Hayden Young comes in Mundy #2. I just hope he doesnt do a cerra and head home, which honestly you couldnt blame a kid for doing that right now. With Cerra being young and having no kids etc i wouldve like him to stick it out 2 more years, but really when he doesnt get to see any fam due to covid, that's tough. So hope Serong and Young can bit a little stronger. No doubt the club would be pulling out all stops to assist these 2.

Was kinda hoping between Chol & CJJ they could snag a early second round and package that up with 7.

Think that is out of the question ?

North Melbourne do have pick 20. Only chance I see them trading that for CCJ is if Richmond throw in Pick 26 or Pick 28 as well. Say Pick 20 and 38 for CCJ and 26.

Chol is a free agent so a compensation pick is all they are getting. It probably shouldn’t be end of first round or even second round tbh.

I really doubt Lobb will go anywhere but if he was to leave.

I could actually see Lobb end up at Richmond. Especially with Chol and CCJ leaving. He would need to be open to playing more ruck. They renegotiate his salary to a 3-year deal under $650,000 per year.

With him under contract it would need to be a favourable deal for us.

6, 61, F2 > Cerra
15,40,44 > Lobb, 27,61
40 > Clark

6, 8, 15, 44, 81

We need our second rounders this year arguably more than 15. Motlop, JVR/Williams, Hough, Clark will fall second round.

We're not getting Clark for a third rounder unless we shouldn't be getting him at all. Also why would anyone pay Lobb $650,000 per year when there is only a year to go on his contract. No, he gets traded it'll be on a new deal.

Agree, but they’re mad in AFL house. So who knows.. No doubt Suns have offered him a decent wage so hopefully ponies the pick up a bit. And gets us a early second.
I think you mentioned in a previous post but a deal with Richmond seems the most beneficial?

I wonder what picks we could get off them mate. Any chance of get 2 firsts from them? Would love it if somehow we could get Erasmus, Amiss and Johnson
Well if we ended up with 6 and 8 then we could trade pick 8 to Brisbane for their and Melbournes first that Brisbane traded in last year.

Chol’s got 4 years at GC. Probably $500k? I would think that alone would be worth an end of 2nd round. We got pick 23 when mayne signed that exact deal with Collingwood. Richmond could conceivably get a pick in the late 20s, or at the least mid 40s.

Said it before, will say it again. Richmond would be crazy not to send a couple of their picks in the 20s to WB for their 1st round pick at 10am on first trade day. Dogs even up with a 2022 pick going back, but that’s not our issue how they get it done.

They have to look after themselves too, so they keep their 15, send 7 and Dogs first (17 or 18) to us.

Done.

Heard a poster say earlier that they wish only Carlton was interested and no other clubs, but correct me if I'm wrong: Isn't more interested parties better for Freo, can essentially start a bidding war?
Would need Cerra to say he's happy to go anywhere in Vic though. Sounds like he's happy to extract maximum value for us.

Yep - especially with Jack coming to end of career.
Cerra and Lobb packaged up to Rich is not crazy for them
