B: Wojcinski Scarlett Harley
HB: Sanderson Graham Milburn
C: Enright Kelly Clarke
HF: Chapman Mooney Riccardi
F: S Johnson Kingsley Ablett
FOLL: King Ling Corey
Inter: Spriggs Rahilly Rooke McCarthy
Emer: Bartel Lord White

I don't think Clarke deserves a game, but he will play.

I also left out Street, although he will probably get a game, sadly.

That's what i'm thinking at the moment, but i think i'll be wrong with Rahilly, he'll end up in the 22 instead of Lord possibly.

Almost identical to my squad. Only difference is Lord/Rahilly.

Personally i'd rather have Lord in the team, but given Rahilly and his mongrel punts are seemingly well in with the coach, it would appear that Rahilly has a fair chance of making the team.

How would Geelong match-up defensively?

The Bulldogs are likely to use Bandy and Wiggins as the only tall forwards with smaller guys like Brown, Giansiracusa, Garlick and Robbins.

If Graham and Scarlett take the big guys, who would Harley and Milburn stand?

Who will get the job on Brown?

We have the opposite problem. Last month your big guys smashed us. It looks like Croft might not come up, which leaves Grant and Bassett to take Mooney and Kingsley, Kretiuk on S. Johnson. I see McCarthy being a problem.

How do you see it?

Scarlett played on Brown in the Wizz Fizz cup game and did well on him.I'd say he'll get another shot.Maybe Rooke could be an option.

Given you will only be playing two talls, i'd wouldn't be surprised if Harley took Wiggins. With all due respect, Scarlett would be wasted on Wiggins.

Dash will, more or less, play as a loose man, perhaps picking up your weakest forward on ocassion (prob Garlick).

Depends on what position Brown plays. If he plays out of the goalsquare as a leading target, i wouldn't be surprised if a Harley or Scarlett (depending on what Wiggins is doing) got the job.

However, if he plays across half forward, then Brenton Sanderson is the man for the job.

I would see Mooney as the problem actually. If Chris Grant is to play the way he did the last time (ie. creative CHB who pays little respect to his opponent), then Mooney will have a field day.

McCarthy might take a few marks, but if Grant doesn't play tightly on Gumby, then Mr. Mooney will be busting packs open and generally intimidating the Doggies undersized backline.

Do you think Steve Kretiuk is capable of matching Johnson in terms of leg speed and ground skills? I know Johnson plays tall, but realistically, he is a mid-sized goal kicking flanker, which isn't a type that suits Kretiuk imho.

If i were Rohde, i'd play Kretiuk on Mooney, Bassett on Kingsley, Grant on McCarthy and someone like Hahn on Johnson.

I know Hahn is more a midfielder, but i honestly don't see anyone else who will match up well with Johnson.

I'd feel more comfortable with Kretiuk on Johnson than Mooney. Mooney is just too big and strong (our options are ?? :( ).

I'd be worried about Mooney pushing back closer to goal. Rhode would have to make the decision about whether to leave Grant on him or leave Grant up the ground.

I think it was these rotations that threw us out last time. Rather than Grant playing loose he seemed to be at a loss as to who he was on.

What will Milburn's role be?

He'd definitely be too big for Kretiuk, but i'd have thought Kretiuk would match him for strength, although i bow to your greater knowledge of your own team.

Like i said earlier, Dash will play his usual loose man in defence role.

He will be involved in a lot of the marking contests, but in general, will play out wide in order to be the link man out of defence.

Having seem no games so far I have nfi who'll line up.. but one thing is for certain, we won't be seeing any rookies (first year players) for some time. My conclusion is based on none having played in the Wizard Cup.

I hope that players like Sanderson, Rooke, Kingsley, Ling are fit for round 1.

Didn't Sanderson strain his calf? He was definitely paying it extra attention during the last Wizard Cup match.

Dunno. There's been no mention in the ADDy of him being injured. It said he was rested last week.

Hmmm.

He definitely had some issues with the calf in the Collingwood game.

Hopefully its nothing to do with the injury problems of last year.
