It's not secret that St Kilda's pick: 7 and 8 will both be on the trade table come trade week. What would you be willing to give up to get one or both of these picks.

There are rumours that the Saints have approached clubs about contracted players and also talk about trading up in the draft.

Could the picks be used in a larger trade to get players to other clubs?

I look forward to seeing what ends up happening with these picks, I'd be very surprised if we take both to the draft.

Higgins and Brander if you go to the draft - outside mid and key defender. They will be there abouts at 7-8 if you miss trading for a good player.

I did say it was unlikely we'd be able to get pick one, its very rarely traded.

I don't get too caught up in the points system by the way.

I wouldn't be trading two top 8 picks for pick one and a fourth rounder that's for sure.

Exactly what I'd want to do. It's very even at the top and I think a lot of players in the Top 10 will end up as good as the Top 3.

Doesn't make the deal seem as appealing for us though ey? Would be better if it was 3 paired up with the late first rounder you get for Gibbs if that trade happens

What's the obsession with points all about? Unless a team has an academy they mean nothing at all. I'd much prefer to take 7 & 8 to the draft than 1 & 55!

I thought the AFL won't allow a trade if there's a clear points imbalance between that which is coming in, and going out.

Every club now has an academy of sorts also - the NGA. Not to mention F/S bidding works on points as well.

Slap yourself and never use points as a reference again unless there's an academy or FS player involved.

If that was actually true then Hawthorn would never have gotten their trades done last year.
