He might not be the ugliest but definately the hairiest...thats before he wax's his underarms..:eek::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Yea your right Buddy25 , Phillips had a terrible season and Railton is terrible and was evident in the finals, in games where the Mathoura forwards dominated, and all of the experienced blokes in the super strong NW are a liabilty to their sides: Fitzpatrick, Germano, May, Robinson, Purcell, Wooden, Noonan, Fox, Sanderson, Dickinson etc. etc.

From what i saw of Phillips he will still be good for 50+ goals next year. Getting slow but is strong and knows where to go. Can't comment on your season pace as i only saw you play 1 2nds game. I think you missed a big part of the early part of the season through injury, which wouldnt of helped. Older blokes need bigger preseasons than the younger blokes, to get their bodies right.

phllips is like the perry meka of the pdfl, leave him one out in the square and he will win most contests and kick plenty of goals ,the question is will he be doing it at mathoura as i heard a rumour he was moving to the cobram area and may be lining up at the hoppers next year

Disagree CM, older blokes are naturally fit, after so many seasons under their belt, no preseason and only need to train once a week.

Next you will be telling me wet days dont help out the slow blokes.

Your spot on about Ian Phillips there Charles, certainly showed every indication he is still capable of kicking 50 + himself, whilst the amount of goals that a full forward who is able to use their body so well, like Ian, brings to a side, I think is generally very under estimated.
If the rumour on here is true and the Hoopers are able to secure his services for 2010 , it will certainly make the setting up of structures and the dependancy of good delivery into the forward line a lot easier.
In relation to older blokes fitness levels etc. etc. I think it depends on what sort of player they have been , players who's game over their career has been based around pace, I agree they do tend to need bigger pre-seasons, whereas those who revolve their game around reading the play or using their body probably don't tend to need the huge fitness level ?
Interesting to hear rumours of a possible return to footy of ex Ram, Drennan, PDFL ??

im not going to say who, but tungamah will not be the side to beat next year

depends alot on who tunga are losing, would think shepp east will be the team to beat most likely will recruite heavily again. katandra will be up there again, very rarely do they lose players. Early prediction Shepp E v Katandra GF

Older blokes are naturally fit ??? From the older blokes i see at training they arnt naturally fit. If they are fit it is because they have had to work at it. The wet days debate. It is always funny how people say that on wet days everyone skills and pace are the same. One side drops down to the other. If you are quicker than your opponent in the dry you will be quicker than him in the wet. Same as skill level. If one side is more skillful in the dry they will be more skillful in the wet. We arnt race horses.....
The only way it helps us slow blokes is there are more contests and less free flowing, hence we can get to more contests.

This might even the comp up a little bit then if this is true????:D Mulwalwa could be the big improvers in the murray league if those 7 are headig there??
i wont name any names 2-4 could go to mul someone is going to melb someone is goin to benalla and wodonga raiders r chasin someone very hard. those are all qualityplayers except 1 who goes alrite just doesnt stand out. but mind u tunga had 6 or so out for most of the year there is alot of 2's players that can stand up

could be close cooper has been getin chased by a shep club but rumour i that he will stay so i didnt mention him but u could put him on the list but i wont say much more lol

Im not sure if we are on the same page here Asahi but i think the fella you are talking about is Marty Brooks (barooga captain) !! He was a Murray league B&F winner not a O&M winner !! I am almost 100% certain that this is the man you are talking about !! And at the age of 35-36 im not sure if he will still be in the league of a superstar !!
Even then !! You have a very hot race on your hands out there at Berrigan with Blighty offering big big dollars considering they missed on Scoullar !!
I think your right on the money there K O T, although the Berrigan coach is from Barooga and does have a connection with Moose.:)
