My understanding is they were wanted to play seniors but a lot turned it dow, knowing no matter how they played they would not be required for finals (I was told)

I wasn't there but I assume that's how Katunga rolled them round 18 last year, because no one wanted to play while the senior players would rest before finals... They won the flag tho, but that's this year...

I'll accept When a VERY SUCCESSFUL team looks like dropping of the pace a bit the lower teams and supporters will focus and emphasize on thier negatives and all go for the jugular like a pack of lions to a wounded wildebeest...

Hexter - head off to Ardmona
BCorrish - committed to east
LCorrish - big, fit, great skills
Ferrari - is playing
Parsons - has trained, looks good
Morrison - bigger faster stronger more mature, shouldn't be in PDFL, has a GF who has a son...
CAynsley - not fit, but hasn't missed one training or even a drill must be improving
Wood - head right? Is that based on your Proffesional pshycology assessment?
Pfiffer - has played 20+ senior games at east, leauge. Reserves goal kicking and didnt want to play seniors
In saying that, 80% of the reserved refused to play seniors last year and the year before too!

And since we 'don't get 30 on the track'
And I named about 10 that means 1/3 of your "players report" was out,

sides to gether with some clever recruiting ,he knew the type of players he needed to win the 2 flags
that he did .his win loss ratio would do him justice in the years he has coached .I have no doubt he
will again be coaching in KDL OR PICOLA in2014

I'd say his phone will be ringing off the hook come later this year.. Wouldnt be out of place coaching at gv level if he had the time to commit .. Lot smarter than he looks

Incredible player that's for sure, and study's opponents before upcoming matches and does great pre-game structures and going through match ups... Fortunately for him he EVERY single one of his mates are guns on their own accord like frapple, jonse & tarone palmer, Osborne, molisak, jarrod best, Trianidis, T.Young, Gilispie, as these bloke retire it will come down to what you know, not who... Would be good to see him take on a GV role

In 2010 I think around 14 or more of the 21 had played at shepp east previously...
As I said it would be good to see him coach GV, no point going back to KD, just be a big fish in a small pond

The reason i said Besty will coach kdl or picola in 2014 is because he wants to continue to play
i have no doubt that one day he might want to coach at gv level .but non playing coaches are
the go in gv. It would be a pretty good apprenticeship if he could win another 1 or 2 more flags
at this level

Gee you have Tungamah a long way back, had not a bad side last year and going by clearances have picked up a lot. i dont know to many of these names but surely if they dont lose to many will be a big threat come the pointy end of the season.

Yeah fair point, like I said tho only 2 games separates 3rd and 6th so really Shepp East, Katty, Katunga, Tungamah can be in any order, it could come down to one of these 4 teams getting Waaia on a bad day and picking up a handy 4 points or even 2 teams having a draw! All in all I think it'll be a very tight year with % coming into play to decide the final 3 teams in finals

Yeah definitely, I just read Rennies ins and outs, with a ratio of about 1:4 (based on clearances only) I think they'll be lower than I originally predicted...

Would be good to see the ins and outs ratios of all teams, although it wouldn't give as an idea on the quality of teams it could give us an idea of quantity

So what's the go out of the Waaia camp? They are either playing their cards very close to their chest or there isn't much happening (which I highly doubt).... They where so close last year & with all of Shepp East's & Rennie's player departures surely they'd have to be odds on favourites for the flag? I've heard a few stories on players going there but nothing in the clearances register, so are they just waiting till the season gets a little closer before they unveil their recruits or are they just going in with their current list thinking thats enough?? Any news on departures or retirements from them??

I would of thought 2 sides playing a game in the pre season was a "traditional practice match". The side in question was never opposed to playing sides from the other comp but would of prefered to organise a game themselves. As it turned out the opposition was from the other side of the division. See the system works....
