dookie v rennie this week shaping as a season defining game my moneys on dooks with the home ground advantage and rennie's inconsistent form. woodsy would be shattered.
all other games pretty predictable at this stage

I went for a look at the rennie game on the weekend, very scrappy game due to the wind, but fairly hard at it by both sides. Waaia is in some troble atm with injuries by the look of it with 3 seconds players all playing in the main game after a full one in the 2s. So they were very happy with the win.
As uppercut said a big game for rennie & dookie next week also Katunga needs to win to keep in touch but a big ask there i know, as well as the waaia v katandra game the bombers cant aford to drop that one, same great games to round out the 1st complete round.

It seems like most teams at the moment are really hurting with injuries and some teams are coping with it better than others and it seems rennie really arent at the moment and to be 3 and 3 they are quickly slipping back into the rutt!! Shepp east v katandra game was also pretty scrappy with the wind and the kats really jumped the eagles with better ball use and better workrate but after halftime the eagles got hold of the game and kicked away but its good to see a team that is 2nd last is still very competitive to the top sides!! The games comin up this w,end should be interesting to see how dookie go against the hoppers and try and make it 4 straight, but surely rennie will put it together and win this week???

Pretty quiet on the home front.......

Anyone know the reason why registered players dont get a text message with all the results this season?

I recieved this on the 31st march.
"Just found out this morning that things have changed with Redtext (company that sent scores through on Saturday evenings) They can only be sent to officials at this stage. "

Have not recieved an update on weather they fixed the prob.

Grand Final at Barooga this year Sat, Sept 10... Nice ground, neutral for everyone... thoughts????

Very interesting karjam but what is the logic about playing at a ground both teams will have never played on?? All that said it is an awesome ground and surface so could be a winner!!!:)

Why not Deakin????? About the same distance for all clubs to travel and real opportunity to showcase PDFL to another tier of footy fans.

I believe Shepp East led the chorus for it to be held at Barooga which is interesting. Barooga Sporties are PDFL major sponsors (I think?) which may have something to do with it also. Good venue, neutral, great parking, excellent ground and facilities. And I think PDFL wanted to get away from the Vic authorities who have been pretty hard since that debacle at the Strathy GF a few years back. Stops some of the clubs arguing over hosting it (run well it's gotta be worth plenty of coin to the hosting club). Good decision by the PDFL and if it doesn't work they can revert back to the old system and at least they tried. Can't see it going wrong anyway.

Round 7

Bears by 60 points
Eagles by 36 points
Bombers by 12 points
Hoppers by 6 points

More like Eagles winning by closer to 36 goals rather then 36 points, what a big win for them,
Good to see katandra knock over Waii after there last 2 weeks coming so close to tunga and putting in a good show against shepparton east, as the first half of the season draws closer to an end it's still anyones I reckon

20k difference between the NSW and Vic security costs ?

That will do it I suppose:(
The Eagles put on an absolute clinic on Sat. Talking to Noodle & Hollywood Peace prior to the game and they said they were quite a few short due to unavailability (weddings etc) but they would be shattered serving that up. To Eagles credit, they kept the foot to the floor right up till the 32min mark of the last, which sometimes is hard to do when the margin is as such.
Good to see Dooks and the Kats get up to make it very interesting. I would suspect that the draw may come right into play towards the end of the year with whoever play Kattys (sorry Tiges but its true) 3 times surely at an advantage if spots 3-6 are in jeopardy.

Dookie’s draw not the best playing Shepp East, Tungamah, Katandra all 3 times with east and Tunga twice at there grounds.

Was a cracking game at Dookie on Saturday, its good to see the boys finally playing as a team not just playing for themselves. Dudge and Brendan McMullen were missing not sure how many were out for Rennie.

Was also good to see young Jayden Thewma kick 4 goals in his debut game for the seniors.

I no this section don’t involve 3rds but just want to give credit to the Rennie 3rds. To continually turn up week after week to loose is never easy but they still do im not the biggest fan of Rennie but got to give the young fellas some credit.

The draw will never be fair to everyone until we have 10 teams and just play each other twice. Until then it will always be flawed. Rennie have had the top teams 3 times the last 2 years so a bit happier with this year's draw (not that it is helping atm!). A good win to Dookie in a cracking game. Rennie kicked 2 goals 9 in the 3rd quarter which stuffed them. But Dookie kicked plenty of posters so it evened out. Young Thewma had a nice game and your number 39 (whose name escapes me) was just too quick, too fit and too good. Very proud of our kids in both grades the way they turn up. Lost a lot of good kids to boarding school the last few years and a few others have shown their lack of loyalty by jumping ship when they figured we'd struggle. Hey, we aren't big fans of the Dooks either but it isn't a popularity contest is it?!?!?!

loyalty? hard to say anyone jumped ship when there wasnt anyone on it to begin with

youve got some issues with rennie dont ya uppercut. seems like you were on them a year ago. now you take potshots. someone out there upset ya or knock ya back? now youre a tunga boy eh? once close enough to know a bit about what was going on without being on the money. now no longer part of it and just being a biatch. sad. makes it easy to figure out who you are anyway.
yep good on those young kids at rennie for sticking about. a few other clubs looked to be struggling with numbers in the 3rds. great to see no forfeits by those clubs and games being played in good spirit.:thumbsu:

10 clubs would be way better... reckon the League should try and recruit back Congupna who are clearly struggling in the Murray League and also get All Blacks back from the Ovens & King who seem to back up and running again both would be great clubs to get back and start up some of that old friendly rivarly.... sounds like the old Tungamah League... HOW GOOD WOULD THAT BE.... thoughts?????

watched a few games of thirds out at rennie last year and to say anyone jumped ship is not a accurate comment as it appears a few moved up to seniors/seconds and a few were only out there because they couldnt get a game at their home club (which is not a loyalty issue). Dunno about being a tunga boy but i think I know who ya talking about and I agree he seems to have issues with rennie. Anyway you are right i probably should ease up on them a bit... just like stirring the pot a bit to much

No you're selling yourself short there uppercut with the "just stirring the pot a bit". You're actually nothing but a smart#rse. Took dubai's tip and went over your old posts. Something's happenned to turn you because you only seem good for potshots at the hoppers nowadays. Nothing positive to gain from it. But to correct you (and perhaps this should be on 3rds thread) a couple of kids jumped ship to other clubs from last year and too many of last year's top aged under 14's went back into the Yarra Sunday comp instead of going up to the 17's. But if you genuinely knew what was going on out there then hey you'd know that wouldn't you!!!
On something more positive I like your idea karjam about Benalla and Congupna. I'm not too sure if the league can or should go approaching other clubs to join us. I think they would have to want to come. Don't know enough about the O&K to comment on if and why the Blacks might want to come across to us. But teams usually only want to swap comps if they are getting floggings or their comp is folding - that doesn't appear to be the case. And last year we were discusing Tocumwal and Finley dropping back to us just as Congupna are being mentioned now. Toc and Finley seem to be back and doing ok this year. I recall CDHBU (Coreen) making enquiries last year. Don't know if that is still an option or how popular that would be......

Im "only good for potshots at rennie" because im forced to hear all about their plights everyday at work and dont get any info (fact or b.s.) on any other clubs, anyway really looking forward to the last few rounds of the year as spots in the finals will be up for grabs if anyone takes their foot off the pedal

congupna i agree with but why the all blacks. imagine going from katunga to benalla before 930 of a morning. No wonder clubs are struggling for junior players.
