Game objectives and mechanics
This game of werewolf is unique in that is centres upon one player – Rand al'Thor (a.k.a. the Dragon). The Light and Shadow factions wage war over Rand as he struggles to comprehend his place in the world. Rand is extremely powerful in the power of saidin, however, with each use it is slowly turning him mad.
Each faction must play an active and accurate game to influence the Dragon to join their side at the start of the Last Battle (Night 6). With the Dragon on their side, their chances of victory are much higher.
How to influence the Dragon:
Night/Day 1, 2 & 3 | Night/Day 4 & 5 | |
Successful action | Both: +1 | Both: +2 |
Failed action | Both: -1 | Both: -2 |
Ta’avern dies* | Light: -1 Shadow: +1 | Light: -2 Shadow: +2 |
Forsaken dies* | Light: +1 Shadow: -1 | Light: +2 Shadow: -2 |
Players will be provided a hint at the end of each Day phase which faction has fared better.
By the start of the Last Battle (Night 6), the Dragon will feel the pull of destiny and heed the voice of the Creator to declare for either the Light or the Shadow.
On the slim chance the influence points are equal, certain events will force the Dragon to make a choice:
- If any ta’avern remain alive, the Dragon's sense of duty will prevail. He declares for the Light, driven by a desire for vengeance and justice.
- If all ta’avern have fallen, the weight of loss becomes too great. The Dragon, consumed by despair, declares for the Shadow.
Win conditions
Shadow (Forsaken) - Influence the Dragon to the Shadow (or kill Light-aligned Dragon) AND eliminate the Black Ajah, Padan Fain, Daughter of the Nine Moons (Light) and equal/outnumber Light-aligned roles.
Shadow (Black Ajah) - Influence the Dragon to the Shadow (or kill Light-aligned Dragon) AND eliminate the Forsaken, Padan Fain, Daughter of the Nine Moons (Light) and equal/outnumber Light-aligned roles.

Padan Fain (SK) - Reach the Last Battle and kill the Dragon.
