Sponsored Player Sponsorship - St Kilda BigFooty Board 2025

Gday all,

Apologies, have been a bit slack getting this post out.
Club contacted me last week about sponsorship for 2025,.
Our boy Windy has moved up to a 'Core' player so should we choose to continue our sponorship of Windy it will be $3000 this year/120 shares @ $25 each.
Alternatively we can go for a new player in the 'emerging' list which will be $2500 so 100 shares @ $25 each.

As per this year there will be:

• A start of season event
• Mid season even
• match day function event
• BnF event
• sponsors gift (getting 2024s gift this week apparently)

Please post a reply if you keen an indicate how many shares your keen on.

It's a tough one, Windy is our first player in 15 years who looks like we haven't cursed...

But now that he's 'made it' to the core list do we stick with him or grab someone who's less likely to get a sponsor?

Do we know if Windy has any other sponsors? I got a feeling he will. If that's the case I'd be happy to move to a younger player (probably a late draft pick) that might struggle for a sponsor. Also saves us finding an extra 25 shares.

Arie as an emerging player would be a great get.....as would the "Flying Viking" as a newbie.

Interesting to note that we now only have emerging and core sponsorships - there used to be three tiers with the top level encompassing veterans and leaders.

TB......the sponsorship guy at the club must be going into meltdown.

If I've got this right.....a player can have 4 standard sponsorships and 1 premium sponsorship each year.

That may have changed tho.

My understanding was 2 sponsorships per player, I know they have reduced the categories to emerging and core....

I'll kick in for 4 shares, but can also pick up more if needed. I am happy if Windy is already sponsored to pick up an emerging player. Hopefully the BF sponsorship curse is behind us. Maybe even the new nude nut from Ireland, Eamonn Armstrong. I guess no one has him yet.

Your advice was spot on TB.

I spoke to the player sponsorship chief about an hour ago.....things have changed a little.

There is now a maximum of 3 player sponsorships per player and a max of 1 premium sponsor.

As of approx 10 am....Arie still had 2 slots available.

The "Flying Viking" was snapped up quicker than you can say "GO SAINTS"

Just as an FYI,I spoke to our man at the club about an hour ago.

If all the punters want to jump aboard the "Arie Express"........as of about 10 am today.....2 of his 3 slots are still available.

Alright - quick update, got forms coming through to sign up on Arie, and they will allow 1 more sponsor on Arie, so the BF sponsorship can be Arie as well (if that's what the decision is)...

So good news for those on the schooner train....

Woah hold our horses here....
By my count 33 shares pledged so far, so we are 1/3 of the way there.

Would want a few more pledged before I sort it out sorry all, if that means we miss out on Arie then that might have to be the way it is.
The idea with going to emerging player was to support someone with no sponsor as yet in my head, but I am happy to go with the people once we have the numbers. Might chuck a poll up to confirm majority
