As good as shaq was he really could have been that much better !
he honestly could have been the greatest of all time
the only center i think majority of people would take over him is olajuwon
 
and in terms of overrated in the modern game you cant go past Griffin, Howard.

pierce has never looked like an athlete but he has been a darn fine player

I still think Nique was a better player overall. Scottie getting named a top 50 all time player ahead of him is a joke to me. That's why I define Scottie as over rated.

He was old at Portland and the league robbed him of his chance to win a title without MJ in that famous game 7 against LA.

How you could rate Nique better than Pippen is insane. Only one thing Nique could do better and that was score. Nique was a phenomenal scorer. But that's it. Everything else possible to do on a basketball court, Pippen did it better. Especially on the defensive end where he is probably the best SF defender the league has ever seen. Ever.

The thing with Shaq is that he isnt overrated he was just never as good as he could have been. For someone so dominant, with his size and strength, his rebounding and blocks numbers werent as good as they could have been. Still one of the greatest big men ever though.

Not overrated but he could have and should have been better. Never had the work ethic of other greats.

Jalen Rose and BS agree with me. Baffles the mind that Shaq never led the league in rebounds or blocked shots. Never won a DPOTY. He could have been so much better but simply didnt have the killer instinct, the winning attitude and the commitment you see in guys like Jordan and Kobe.
 
Sorry for all the spamming... but my overrated guy goes to Reggie Miller.

He rolls around on tv with Barkley, Shaq etc and is a HOFer so everyone thinks he was this legend. Reggie wasnt. He was a great clutch shooter, great shooter overall. That is pretty much it. Couldnt rebound or pass the ball. Despite being a great shooter, wasnt actually a great scorer, was average to poor on the defensive end.

Hugely overrated.

What people forget about Pip is that he was really a Point Forward. He had mad ball control and he was an awesome defender. Would have been the perfect match up against MJ.

Shawn Kemp. I loved him for his aerial display but apart from that he had nothing.

It hurts to say but Alan Houston. We loved him as Knicks fans but he was never a max player.

Charles Barkley. Always did dumb things to make his side lose

Funniest thing is him claiming Kobe bought shaq three rings. Kobe for all his greatness has only once been the best performed player on a championship team (gasol deserved finals MVP one year) something that reflects badly in comparison to MJ who was 6 from 6.
