lol @ travis cloke and mathew kreuzer. Travis's posistion is well cemented in the side for many years and common kreuzer just started and rucks don't peak til 26 years.

Well Kelly had his best season for a while last year, so I hope he does lift!

sean rusling is a player to watch for us this year, kid has had so many injurys in the past and he is still young.

Haha he certainly will need to lift his game to get back on the doggies list again!

lol @ travis cloke and mathew kreuzer. Travis's posistion is well cemented in the side for many years and common kreuzer just started and rucks don't peak til 26 years.

He's listed Cloke and Kruezer in the players to watch category, not need to lift:rolleyes:

Everyone gets one player who needs to lift ... except the Saints, who seem to have a gestalt entity known as "the Clarke brothers".

I agree Xavier is probably at the crossroads. Raphael has a few more years on his side.

Carlton
Players to Watch Need to Lift
Matthew Kreuzer Andrew Walker
Walker can't be included in that category after missing most of 2008 with injury.

Walker averaged 19 touches and kicks 6 goals in seven games after his return from injury.

Yet Bruce Matthews didn't have Walker in our best 22.

Brad Fisher needs to lift.

There isn't a spot for two slow marking forwards in Fisher and Cloke in our best 22.

Both lack a defensive side and can be exploited by their opponents.

Carrazzo needs to lift by improving his disposal and avoid being replaced by Browne, Armfield and Johnson who are better kicks.

Stephen Hill Kepler Bradley

Why does Kepler have to lift (relative to other players)? He played well last year, especially considering there was no expectations on him. He forced his way into the team from good consistent form in the WAFL then held his spot. He has and will continue to improve and it was a fantastic piece of recruitment IMO.

Yeah Gibbs would EASILY be the player to watch at Carlton !!!!!!!!! I would have actually said Walker as he was killing it during the preseason but a shoulder injury has set him back a bit. Still, if he can get on the field and remain injury free I think he will have a big year ............

Lift would be Russel EASILY. He has been given A LOT more chances over the years than he has earnt, and won't be given the same leway this year. I don't have him close to being in out best 22 of a full strength team. Close second would be Fisher with his SHOCKING kicking for goal and third would be Hartlett/Edwards tied (don't know how the 2 survived the cull apart from there would have been noone better in the draft to get with the picks we would have got for delisting them. Both need to show SOMETHING this year !!!!!!!!)
