Players who've given away consecutive 50 metre penalties in an AFL game

It's actually a rare feat for players to give away consecutive 50 metre penalties in an AFL match. Here's a listing of the ones I can recall

Greg Williams - versus St. Kilda at Waverley in 1993. Was promptly dragged but then returned to get over 40 possessions and be BOG. Undiscplined and brillant - a good summation of his career

Peter Everitt - gave away consecutive 50 metre penalties in the 1999 match against Hawthorn when the Hawks came from the biggest margin ever to win and see the beginning of the end of Tim Watson's coaching career. Judging by Spider's kicking the ball into the crowd against Geelong, it seems he hasn't changed much in this regard

Allan Jackovich - Against Hawthorn in 1993, gave away consecutive 50 metres that saw Hawk defender Ray Jencke have a shot for goal directly in front form 30 metres out. Which he missed.

It's fair to say that it takes a certain type of character to commit an act like this - a highly volatile one!

I can remember Carey doing it at Waverly a few years back. Might have been against Hawthorn but i'm not quite sure. Was lipping off something shocking to the umps and is the only time i can recall Pagan dragging him.

I can actually remember Pagan dragging him for mouthing off at the umpires in his comeback game from his shoulder injury against the Swans at the SCG in 1997. The crowd certainly enjoyed that.

M.Pike gave away two (or it might have even been three) in a row in a pre-season game against WB this year at Whitten Oval.

I remember watching an interview on talking footy and they asked waybne carey on this topic. He said two due to mouthing off at the umpire, but added they couldn't give anymore becuase they were already right in front of goal.

Obviously no point in shutting up in that case.

During a Collingwood - Sydney match a couple of seasons ago, Rocca took a nice mark in the goal square right before the half time siren, but the umpire paid in the back against Molloy (wrongly, I might add). Rocca and Molloy proceeded to argue their case until the umpire dragged them to about 40m out from Sydney's goal. A 50m penalty each maybe?

Also vs Essendon in the qualifying (??) final at the MCG. Went from centre wing to 15 metres out. Bloody Symonds still missed.

I remember one against Fitzroy in 1995 but I'm not sure if it was 2 50s or a 50 metre penalty and a free kick up field.

I can add a 3rd one for Greg Williams - 1996 v Hawthorn at Waverley. Shocking night, goals were hard to come by and he gave us one on a platter - thanks Diesel.

Probably would have won 5 Brownlows if he could shut his gob.

Luke Darcy did it against Freo the other week - very poor form from a team leader. Was not impressed at the time.
