Re: Playstation 3 News(Articles, Accessories, and something else) III

I guess it's just Viney's PS3 .

I've said for years on here "Did I get a lemon"

Not my fault my PS3 is loud

When it's running it's quiet with a slight hum, but after being on for 10 mins it kicks up a notch then after about another 20 mins the full fans go on

Why the hell would I lie about this?

Christ you're an annoying little dweeb

Dungeon Hunter: Alliance announced for PSN.

4 Player Co-Op as well.

The iPod Touch/iPhone version was pretty fun but very linear.

It's basically Diablo/Torchlight. So it's good the PS3 is getting something like this.

GET EXCITED!

consider me intrigued....so this is a psn store downloadable title kerrbz? was anything about its pricing released?

looks just like the x-men legends and marvel ultimate alliance games and i've always been a big fan of those.

and on the topic of fan noise i've heard mine be loud once ever when it was 38+ degrees...
other than that i've never noticed it.....ever.

Any price cuts coming out soon? Our PS3 has got a YLOD and given its the 3rd time its broken down I think its time just get a new one. Anything else I should know, like where I can offload the broken one? or where its cheapest?

What model is it? 60gb?

My 60gb has broken down on me again also for the third time.

I don't think any price cuts will be coming in the forseeable future.
If its a 60gb you can get 100 to 150 on ebay for it. You will not be able to trade it in to shops for obvious reasons.

Currently PS3's are going for around 500 dollars for 120gb version and 1-2 games but come as cheap as 430 for just the console. If you're also in the market for a new T.V consider buying a Sony Bravia. Some models come with a free PS3.

Re: Playstation 3 News(Articles, Accessories, and something else) III

I'm pretty sure its from a select group of PSN games and PS1 classics.

http://playstationlifestyle.net/201...-new-premium-service-for-playstation-network/

Yep 1 PSN title, 2 Minis, and 1 PS1 classic. All that each month! Awesome Value!:thumbsu:
While it's good value (depending on what titles you get given) remember that you won't "Own" these titles. It's more or less a rental service for as long as you choose to have the PSN+ Membership.

Just wondering how everyone else views the Move?

Before I saw Sony's Press conference, I though it was pretty much bullshit. Some of their demos (Tiger 10) and some games that were announced (Sorcery and Time Crisis) looked/sounded pretty good. Before hand I was going to pass but now I'm quite sure I'll buy it.

http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/playstation-move/

98 bucks for the wand, the camera and game is quite good value!
Add to that the sub controller for games like Socom and Killzone (50 bucks) and it does turn out to be a bit pricy but nontheless still a buy for me.

September 16th out in Australia, can't wait!

Yeah, that part shits me. Probably be around 80 dollars a year (I think?) and each month you'll get 30+ dollars value (thats just games, not including themes, avatars etc). Even if you are renting the games, they can't take back their 1 hour trials or the themes (I don't think) or the betas you play while in the subscription. Overall still a good deal methinks.

It's no for me as i think i have maybe 2 psn games and a handfull of demos, but someone like Camo who is addicted to PSN titles :p could get some real value out of it

At the moment, it's going to be a buy for me. $100 bundle is nicely enough priced and Sports Champions will be the game which looks adequate enough (I wonder if there'll be a possibility to use the DualShock instead of the Nunchuck/Sub Controller? Taking out that extra cost. Because I'd forego the awkwardness to save $50 for now anyway:p).

Dead Space Extraction is the title that I am perhaps most excited by. I have been looking at getting it for the Wii for a long time now, but just haven't purchased because of the $70 price point for what I know will be a superb game but also may be limited in replayability. But being chucked into a Special Edition with the excellent looking Dead Space 2 is just an absolute bonus.

I have always been a big fan of Time Crisis (a lot of fun at the arcade, remember actually completing the game with a mate in one long session once:D). The new game NEEDS to be improved over the previous entries though, it needs to be hard (the original and the 2nd were insanely hard, but greatly satisfying when you got past each section) and it needs to be fun.

The thing that is getting me liking Move is the games it's getting. Sure there's the fluff that will "excite" the casuals. But then there's games that I actually want in Dead Space Extraction, Time Crisis, SOCOM 4, Killzone 3, Heroes on the Move, The Sly Collection, Heavy Rain (I'd play it again with Move), The Fight (does need a fair more improvement though) and hell Tiger Woods 11 even looked interesting. These titles aren't shitty cash ins (well Heroes on the Move could be) they are genuine titles with high quality potential or already known high quality.

So unless showings get worse, it'll be in my new additions come September 16. Oh and this gun add on is SWEEEEEEEEEEET!

I think everything might potentially have a lock on it that cancels out once your subscription ends (Obviously beta's and trials won't do anything as you'll play them before a year...or the beta will just be closed anyway).

There's definitely value to be had, just have to remember that you're not really the owner of the titles and it's more a rental service. As long as the PSN titles can be good and relevant to the time (WipeOut HD as I said is a great start, but really it's a bit old now too. Need to get current up to date PSN releases to be the free one's).

Re: Playstation 3 News(Articles, Accessories, and something else) III

$98 is a good price. Like HBK, i'm happy with it as long as there are plenty of non-casual games to take advantage of it. Which is my main gripe with Kinect, which could work well with a controller in tandem, but by itself just can't offer anything other than casual stuff, which is where MS have focused so heavily.

Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer Beta Exclusive to PS3
Sony announced the multiplayer beta for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be available only on PSN later this year. PS3 also snagged an exclusive package of missions for Brotherhood’s single-player campaign mode after the game drops November 16.

Sony presented the first multiplayer trailer from Brotherhood, featuring parkour chase scenes and sneak attack kills throughout the rooftops and streets of Rome.

PS3 is getting some extreme content exclusives this coming year for games including Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, Mafia II and of course Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Sometimes I really hate you guys :p.

On the Australian Store, PlayStation Plus costs AUD$69.95 for a one-year membership and AUD$20.95 for a 90-day membership.
The prices have been released for Playstation Plus. Coming June 29th.

http://au.playstation.com/ps3/suppo.../PlayStation-Plus-frequently-asked-questions/

I think this will be a buy for me. I rarely ever bought PSN games/content so everything that will be offered will be new to me.

Factoring in free games alone (1 PSN = 10 dollars, 2 Minis = 10 dollars, 1 PS1 Classic = 10 dollars (rough guide)) you're getting 30 dollars content each month for an initial outlay of 70.
Add to this discounts, early access to games/demos, automatic updates (will be intersted to see how this works because usually you need to have the actual game inside the Playstation before you can download updates for it), full game trials etc and it is quite good value.

I have heard conflicting reports on the games that will be available in the first month and the early sign-up bonus though.

For early sign-up I have heard you either get 3 months free (15 months for the price of 12) or a free copy of LBP.

For games I have heard Flow or Wipeout (PSN title).

Re: Playstation 3 News(Articles, Accessories, and something else) III

With the move you only need the motion controller (main), eye camera and software games to play any game?

If needed you can use your PS3 sixaxis/DS3 controller as a navigation controller?

The Sony Conference said 3 months free for early sign-up and Wipeout HD would be the first title. With inFAMOUS being the first full game trial.

From what I've read up you will be able to use the DualShock 3 as the navigation controller.

Disappointingly the good looking DC Universe Online will be charging a hefty monthly fee (well believed to be monthly) for you to play the upcoming MMO. Confirmed to be releasing simultaneously on both PS3 and PC in November though for those who are still interested.

I think I'll be giving it a miss.

Sony Online Entertainment’s Scott Gulbransen has confirmed rumours we reported last night regarding the upcoming release of DC Universe Online. According to Scott, the game will indeed require a $14.99US subscription fee, which will gain you access to the game’s massive superhero laden world. Scott’s also confirmed that the game will launch on the PlayStation 3 day and date with the PC version. Finally MMOs hit the consoles.
