Didn't know about that one but it looks neat.

emuboy.

Isn't there a 3rd order enclave in Yemen or Oman or somewhere in the Middle East?
It's between UAE and Oman.

I think there are a few between India and Bangladesh. But both governments are working on fixing that up
And then you got Baarle-Nassau and Baarle Hertzog in in the Netherlands and Belgium, respectively.

A band named the Warlocks were due to play a benefit concert in San Francisco in December 1965, but twas a problem being there was already a band called the Warlocks... so they changed their name to The Grateful Dead.

Any geography fans out there like myself will enjoy WonderWhy's videos on YouTube, very fascinating and a lot of interesting trivia to learn

Not sure if it’s him but there is one who talks fast when excited.

I do love timezone trivia.

Here's another one:

Timezone first opened in Perth in 1978 and claimed to be the first family-oriented amusement centre at the time, and has now expanded to the rest of Australia as well as six countries internationally.
They used to have two Timezones on Hindley Street I spent many hours of my teens there. They also had one on South Rd that would do lock ins from midnight to six where you payed something like a tenner and all the games were on free play.

Speaking of Timezone

There are 6 different time zones in the US.

You will love this video then.

At the risk of bragging, I knew about all the weird timezones (Nepal, China, the clusterf*** in the Pacific around the International Date Line), but the history behind many of them is fascinating imo.

Pakistan does not mean “Land of the Paki’s”, like all other countries in the area. It’s an acronym for the regions of Pakistan.

Punjab, Afghan (the North-West frontier region), Kashmir, Indus (some say it's for Islam) and Sind. The "Tan" is said to represent Baluchistan.

More then a few between India and Bangladesh.
Croatia and Serbia share a border that follows a river, and of course that river has changed slightly since the borders we're drawn up...meaning that there's a lite pissing contest about where the border actually sits

i love how the qld nsw border follows the mountain range towards the coast, and then the surveyor took a wrong turn on a ridge, ended up too far north, needed to get back to what is now central tweed heads, so they drew a straight line to a point in tweed heads, then it goes to point danger. cuts thru the airport

edit: i did the red line as the dotted grey one is hard to see. i didnt do the red line perfectly straight tho as was in snipping tool

Landing direction depends on prevailing winds on the day, not origin of flight. Winds normally southerly, so planes land into the wind. 👍👍trivia

Depends which way you land. Most flights land from the north so you land in qld, end of runway in nsw, and taxi back from nsw to qld

Lucky we don't have a setup like that in VIC at the moment.

Otherwise we'd have VICPOL sitting at the end of the runway issuing fines for travel zone infringements

Until the end of the 1964 season, St. Kilda played home matches at the Junction Oval, with South Melbourne playing its home games at the Lake Oval, located just a few kilometers away at the other side of Albert Park Lake. The VFL would never schedule Saints and Swans matches at their home grounds on the same Saturday, to avoid traffic and public transport problems in the area with the grounds so close to each other.

I'm not sure if the VFL applied the same principle to Melbourne and Richmond, where until the completion of 1964 the Demons played home games at the MCG with the Tigers at the much smaller Punt Road Oval just next door, until Richmond also began playing home matches at the MCG from 1965 onwards, and St. Kilda moving to Moorabbin also in 1965.
