There's some evidence that aboriginal people were trading with various Indonesian groups from very early on - some estimates date from the 13th century (some experts say only the early 19th) - we're still looking for the official accounting books. It's complicated.

Anyway, this chunk of land was discovered at least 50,000 years ago by a group (or groups) of nomadic migrants - probably from Indonesia or New Guinea.

The Europeans were late-comers.

Brilliant.

On SM-G925I using BigFooty.com mobile app

I was in Sydney for Warne's first Test, Shastri got 200 and Sachin got his first 100 in Oz but I remember saying afterwards that I didn't think the new blonde leggy would amount to much.

Unpopular opinion, I like and admire Murali and thought his treatment by our crowds disgraceful.
Most people I talk to about Murali have nothing against him (he is spoken about by other cricketers as being a really humble bloke) they just don't like how the ICC changed rules to adjust for him

It's probably an unpopular opinion mostly in Australia, to be honest. I reckon Warne gets off pretty lightly on comparisons considering he was banned for a year for using a steroid masking agent and reprimanded for giving "pitch information" to a bookie. If people want to put an asterisk next to Murali's achievements, they need to take the blinkers off and put a couple of big ones next to Warne's name too.

Wow, sir. It's hard to believe this is true, but running was invented in 1748. By a dude whose last name was Running. He discovered it by accident when he lost balance and double stepped or something.

Thats just insane. Surely prehistoric people, ancients, ran when chased by dangerous animals and other violent tribes.

They would've. Just no record of it.

That being said, cave paintings depict running

+1 for Murali chucking. He seems likeable as a person so I don't think 'boo hiss cheat' but the ICC still let him get away with a dodgy action. Even as a backyard mug if you keep your arm dead straight and try to bowl off spin vs having it bent at the elbow it feels like you can impart more spin on the ball doing the latter. Extra segment of movement I think the sports scientists call it.

Murali and Warne both have surprisingly poor records in spin friendly India, each averaging 40, and both have good records in seam friendly England and NZ averaging ~20.

Murali does get a lot of hate for taking wickets against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe but Sri Lanka don't get 5 test series vs England twice every 4 years, 3 + 3 home and away test series vs South Africa etc. Inflated record sure (800 @ 22 vs 605 @ 25 without those nations) but still took 112 @ 20 vs England, 105 @ 33 vs India and 102 @ 22 vs South Africa too.
