Polak hit by tram?

The brain is a tough thing. I was thinking about Richard hammond's (Top Gear presenter) crash after this happened and it was a HUGE crash and he had brain injuries (i think they were worse than Polak's brain injury) but he recovered. If Hammond can reover then i see no reason why Polak cant do the same thing.

Decades of experience in treating and rehabilitating road/general trauma has given the medical profession a pretty good insight into the likelihood of recovery from certain levels of impact/damage.
By all reports, Hammond was very fortunate to have as few ongoing effects as he's had, and that a majority of people who experience a similar hit don't come off so well. The fact that he had an above average outcome doesn't really serve to move the bell curve, and is no meaningful predictor of anyone else's recovery.

Sorry to come off as grim here, but the "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" thing doesn't work with stuff like this.

Tony Jones is the dregs of humanity. The only thing he'd find upsetting about this news is the fact that he didn't get the break the story.

Good to hear Polak has come out of a coma. At this stage, you really just hope there is no permanent brain injury.

I'm sure if it was Tony Jones in a coma people would be pissing in his pocket too. Dregs of humanity? Do you know the guy? I'm sure he wants the best for Polak like everyone else.

This doesn't deserve to happen to anyone. And when it happens to celebrities in this case an AFL footballer you can't help but take an interests and get behind that person. I am pleased to be reading hear that the news is good. :thumbsu:
