It's very easy. You just don't tranmit images of another person without their permission.

Just don't do it. Ever.

And even easier is to never give permission. It's rarely the first layer of permission you have to worry about, it's the scum under that layer.

In case people have missed the last 20 years, you even need permission and approval in many situations where people actually have their clothes on to take photos. Not sure why so many struggle understanding naked ones need a whole extra layer of approvals. It's not just harmless fun but can lead to a lifetime of depression or suicide.

Just don't do it. Ever.

Well, let's take a couple of lessons from this:

- Don't distribute nude pictures of others including yourself.
- Don't allow others to take nude pictures of you.

Simples.
This is it in a nutshell. If you take a picture of someone naked with or without that persons consent or you agree to have a naked photograph of yourself taken you're just setting yourself up for shit to hit the fan. If you take a nude picture of yourself or of someone else don't share it! Again you're just setting yourself up for shit to hit the fan.

Don't feel sorry for the little **** at all.

It seems like generation Y (my gen unfortunetely) has vegetables for brains. Nearly every month there's a new celebrity leaked photo or video scandal. You'd think, maybe, just maybe, that people would take this as a warning that if you take a compromising photo or video of yourself, let alone send it to someone, that it's a matter of when, not if, that the photo/video get into the hands of unwanted people. Whether it's passed around by your partner, an ex, computer or phone hacked, phone stolen etc.
It's seriously the same as someone dilebrately putting their hands in a fire, and than acting shocked when they get burnt.
Or someone dilebrately leaving their car outside unlocked, with the keys in the ignition, and than acting shocked when it's stolen.
These people aren't victims. They simply have bird brains, that's all.
I guarrantee you the chick in the photo was bragging about it to her friends and all, about being a Richmond groupie. Now that's it in the media, she's not so proud.
100% .Think about the consequences b4 you put yourself in a compromising situation. I still DON'T see the gains why anybody would do this as what are the gains? Financial is the obvious ,am i missing anything else out?
If the law was changed so that it was the other way round that the person being irresponsible by flaunting their private parts to a camera were charged it would wipe out these petty and stupid money seeking ventures out. Also it would eradicate the need for hungry lawyers and stop our police being inundated with having to sort rubbish like this out and best invest their time in real criminal issues.

if you rule out your second point then your first is automatically eliminated so simplify with

Don't allow others to take nude pictures of you.

Regardless of the official outcome, after all inquiries have been completed, player involved needs to be dealt with by leadership group and the club for drawing all of this grubby focus on Tigers and taking gloss off a great year.....

Pissed off!

Mmm, how about don't share nude pictures of people without their consent? That's the issue. People should take as many nude pictures as they goddamn want. Others leaking them are the ones ****ing up.

Do not disagree . However sexting is an extension of cyber bullying which can occur anywhere and extends well beyond just that of a sexual nature. Anyone who uses cyber in an attempt to discriminate or attempt to defame someone can be found guilty of cyber bullying.

eg. We can all say Groupie_ sleeps with fat woman and is a slob.
However any attempt to devuldge his true identity could be seen as cyber bullying.
My point is that the key components to this whole scenario are ; her age andwhen did she ask for the photo to stop being distributed .
Any reasonable cyber safety education points out that any photo or video you have taken and agree to or post, you should expect to be distributed .

I don't think Groupie is going to reply any time soon

Sorry you missed the point here. There lies the problem bc IF you want them to be private why would you do them in front of somebody else and put yourself at risk??In this case it appears to be a one night stand which makes it even more ridiculous.

I agree with you, it's a legitimate form of art, unfortunately the human race is the least trustworthy animal in the world, it is always going to backfire on you eventually.

I don’t really think it was broad tbh. He didn’t have a girlfriend last year as seen by him going to the jack Dyer medal alone. Have followed him on social media and he has been clearly single for ages. Would you really send revenge pr0n for a 1+ year breakup

Is this a serious post? Of course this chick wasn't a players girlfriend. It was an obvious groupie (although her **** are a lot smaller than the real Groupie_)

Yeah true. Same thing with those pesky people that cross roads all the time. I mean why would they put themselves at risk? A car could just come through and knock them over at any time. Pretty ridiculous.

WTF would a player who has received multiple education sessions on things such as distributing unconsented sexual material distribute it ?
It is easy to believe the story projected by the media.[

I don’t get the ‘sexual material’ reference.
If the photo was of a male torso would that still count as sexual material?
If a person doesn’t want a photo of them shared, it shouldn’t be shared. Happens a lot unfortunately, tabloid photos of celebrities at the beach etc. Probably the player has done wrong, possibly he gets punished (but not jail).
But I don’t understand why we society wants us to celebrate and admire breasts covered with minimal amounts of thin material, but then feel dirty and ashamed for seeing the actual anatomical entities (no pun intended). Can’t we all grow up a bit?

You're not living in the real world.
Do you really think what you're asking for, is even semi-realistic?
It's the same as someone deliberately leaving their car unlocked with the keys in the ignition, and than suprise suprise it gets stolen. And than saying, ''how bout people don't steal cars with the keys deliberately left in the ignition''. Do you think that's actually going to happen?
The better and more realistic advice would be, ''for the car owner to grow a brain and stop intentially leaving his keys in the car ignition, when he knows it's going to get stolen.''

People need to grow a brain and stop taking and sending photos of themselves to people when they KNOW it's almost certain it'll get into the wrong hands.
Enough of tarts sending photos to others and than when it obviously get's in the wrong hands, saying, ''CaNt BeLeIvE tHiS hApPeNeD, DePreSsEd, FeeL SoRrY FoR Me NoW LoL''.

When the Collingwood players did the same thing, and even had their photos sold to a magazine, they were rightfully called stupid.
But when it happens to a female, they are ''victims'', it's ''sexism'' and ''an equality issue''.
To be honest it's you and many others on this site who seem incredibly out of touch to me. I dunno what kind of world you live in but in mine, victim blaming is a ludicrously outdated response. Better and realstic advice is "don't share photos of people who haven't consented to them being shared." Why don't we focus on blaming the individual who has actually done the wrong thing?

Tigers,

Thanks to our many learned friends for their legal opinion and commentary on this matter.

I'm starting to get lost in the discussion - Can someone refresh our minds on what FACTS of this matter we actually know.

As I understand it the FACTS we have are -

Exhibit 1.
A pic of a topless woman wearing a 2017 premiership medal.

Exhibit 2.
A pic of the back of a naked woman posing near the Tigers sign holding a footy.

Do we have any other FACTS.
The woman reported it to police because she was told that the photos were deleted and she didn't want them shared. That's a fact.

I just hope it's not one of our stars because the consequences could be bad. The police probably know who it is, she would presumably know at least who took the photos, and they're just investigating how they got out and the legitimacy of her claim she asked them to be deleted.

It is allegedly one of our defenders who has played few games.

Right on .... it's pretty simple.
I'll put a scenario out there ... and off the bat I'll straight away say I wouldn't take a photo like this, ask someone to take a photo like this, or ask anyone to be involved in it .... as I know the consequences.
But it's naive to say - as some have suggested - that the player has trusted mates not to share it and they have.
Like .. think about it .. if you did this, how many of your best mates would you 100 per cent trust not to share it around.
I have a great bunch of best mates, but I would guarantee more than a few of them would have sent it on if I shared it .... which s why you don't do it!

A victim statement from a lady who appears in Exhibit 1 and/or Exhibit 2 claiming she asked the pics to be deleted and not share them, and also names a suspect.

So we have a stripper who’s worried about her breasts been revealed to the world? Interesting does she strip for nothing with a paper bag over her head?
Surely this can’t be true. Anyway I’m putting on the pop corn.
Not sure it would bother her for that long.Few years time she,ll have kids and even the said player wouldn't be able to recognize.

This thread needs to be closed before it gets any uglier
Yep it is over the top on both sides. People trying to jump onto the high moral ground suggesting they have never undertaken similar.
Anyone over 18 has probably been guilty of both sides of the arguement, to some degree, with what facts are at hand.

Exactly, you just leave yourself very vulnerable. The one who takes pictures like this may say "I am just going to send it to a few people". Then those people say the same thing. By the time it reaches a friend of a friend, it is "oh look what a mate sent me" if they pass it on. From there it is just a viral picture that people are sending around to eachother.

With all the effort that is put in to educate others about things like this, it is sad to see that people still remain naive enough to fall into both sharing pictures like this and allowing people to take a nude picture of them.

lol are you serious? A ''disgusting'' generalisation? haha listen to this White Knight.
Do you know what the definition of the word **** is?
She's a groupie that got some player to take naked photo's of her, with his medal. She's obviously slept with him.
For her to sleep with a player, and even go as far as get him to take naked photos her in what looks like the actual Richmond Club rooms, she's obviously been with a few people in the past at best. Although realistically, at worst, she's probably had a train run through her.
So ye, going by the defintion of the word, she's a ****.
You are presuming she slept around, yet you have zero evidence but are quite happy to tarnish a woman who has done nothing but taken her top off.
For all you know she may have been a stripper who the player put the medal around her neck.
I hope you don't have daughters.
