If we received the same AFL dividend as St Kilda we wouldn't have a debt in 2 years. That should cut the club’s debt down to $12,999,990.

You may not care, but I would think most Hawthorn members would. Certainly Jeff Kennett, Dermie etc would be opposed.I wouldn't care if they wore brown and yellow if they were THEIR colours. There goes your whole argument.
To be honest I couldn’t say you are correct or incorrect because in reading Port’s 2019 financials they fail to separate the AFL assistance with other revenue. It was just a glance and happy to be proven wrong. If we received the same AFL dividend as St Kilda we wouldn't have a debt in 2 years.
Yeah you don't get a good idea from that because you can ask for the full accounts but they don't seem to release them publicly. My numbers come from the AFL Annual Report 2020.To be honest I couldn’t say you are correct or incorrect because in reading Port’s 2019 financials they fail to separate the AFL assistance with other revenue. If only we had it looked into by a former AFL CEO who clarified that Port in fact did not sign away the right to the prison bars in 1996...Got a copy of that agreement?
You may not care. But you are only speaking for yourself not other hawks supporters.. there are some collingwood supporters that have said in this very thread that they dont care either..I wouldn't care if they wore brown and yellow if they were THEIR colours. There goes your whole argument.
You have completely made that up.The CLAM is a great one for saying that the agreement for Port to never wear the bars is set in stone and exists with no evidence at all but when a Port supporter starts talking about agreements then the agreement never happened and "could you produce that agreement for us to see".
No consistency whatsoever and you out yourself as a Port hating troll just for the amount you've had to say on the subject. Anyone who is not a Port or a Collingwood supporter on this thread is 95% likely to be here to troll Port supporters.
So what does that agreement say that precludes Port from wearing the bars (and no quoting Eddie) and why doesn't any subsequent agreement override that agreement when the 1997 agreement overrides the 1990 agreement? You have completely made that up.
I have consistently said the heritage rounds agreement, that was solely for the heritage round games, and the 1990 “agreement” some power supporters bought up today that was apparently drafted up when port has their first tilt at an afl license are irrelevant.
I have consistently said the only agreement that matters is the one just prior to port power entering the comp in 1997..
Not sure why your blatantly lying to say that im all over the place on which agreement is the one that matters.
Send an email to your beloved club.. im sure they’ll send you a copy of the agreement they have signed in full in regards to the wearing of the PB’s..So what does that agreement say that precludes Port from wearing the bars (and no quoting Eddie) and why doesn't any subsequent agreement override that agreement when the 1997 agreement overrides the 1990 agreement?
Thanks for that Alyx... very much appreciated!.. so kind of you to be concerned. You have almost contributed 119 posts to this thread, Bearded Clam. I have chosen to highlight this milestone for two reasons:
1) If there is anyone who could appreciate that particular number, I am sure it is you.
2) This might a good time to take a long, hard look at how you spend your time.
It must be a real challenge for you.Why are similar jumpers such an issue when similarly named teams aren't?
Can anyone follow a conversation involving all of western, greater western and west coast?
It is. I propose that we follow tradition and teams be named after the suburb in which they are based. North Melbourne would be called North Melbourne and your team would be called Jolimont C.It must be a real challenge for you.
You may not care, but I would think most Hawthorn members would. Certainly Jeff Kennett, Dermie etc would be opposed.
Fact is the AFL competition has different colours/designs for each club. Is that by accident?
You may not care. But you are only speaking for yourself not other hawks supporters.. there are some collingwood supporters that have said in this very thread that they dont care either..
But the Collingwood club cares and the only way we could definitely find out if the majority of collingwood members dont care is to allow them to vote on it..
I suggested this about 150 pages back but no one seemed to think it was a good idea.
Let the collingwood members vote.. if a majority say they dont mind port wearing the PB’s in the two showdowns then so be it...
I think Graham Cornes should have the casting vote with a Bearded Clam.
I suspect Graham is Bearded Clam.
Collingwood don't own the league. If they don't like it they can leave.
Thats not what the agreement says though. It says that Collingwood won't object to Port being allowed to wear it at home in Heritage rounds. And Port won't develop a retail line of those Heritage jumpers.I am all for tradition and I back Port Adelaide to show case theirs but if they signed an agreement stating they would only wear it during the designated heritage round than I don't exactly see what grounds they have here?
I've got no problem with Port wearing their traditional jumper, but this could have been solved by Port making the bars teal or the upper part of the jumper teal and leaving the rest as it is. I don't see how anyone could object to teal bars on a black jumper. Why the fu** does Collingwood (Eddie) even get a say on what another team wears? Do they own the stripes? Why have North Melbourne been able to have an identical guernsey to Collingwood? Is it because they have a different colour? If that's the case then why can Geelong and Carlton use the same colours? Or is it because the design of Port's is arguably somewhat vaguely similar to Collingwood? If that's the case then why can Richmond and Essendon have identical designs?
Did Melbourne have to get clearance from Carlton to use their guernsey with a monogram? Surely Carlton can stop other teams from using a monogram if Eddie can stop teams from using something that is not even close to Collingwood's.
Two very thick black stripes on a white background =/= 6 thin white stripes on a black background which only go 60% of the way up, with a horizontal bar across the top. Sure, you wouldn't wear them against each other but it's a far cry to say this is too similar to Collingwood's, especially for a couple of games a year. Pure greed from Eddie.
Find the clause where it says they can't wear the PBs more often?BUT, the contract is clear. Port were to be allowed to wear the PB's once a year in "Heritage Round". Now they want to wear it for both showdowns, despite neither being a "Heritage" Round. Thats not Kosher. They agreed to that contract when they entered the League. It was a condition for entry 14 years ago. They also agreed not to sell either b&w or magpies branded kit, yet theyre selling both now. AFL should crack down on that and reinforce their identity.
