Poorts home game crowd average is 40,888 this year down from 43,794 last year. With only 39k turning up last week the trend is alarming.

All those bandwagon fans that came from nowhere are disappearing faster than Hinkleys chances of coaching next year.

I predict the tarps will be making their first appearance at Adelaide Oval before the end of the year. Its a shame to put that stain on such a world class stadium.

Pretty ordinary home games ...

Bulldogs - no supporters here
Richmond - maybe they'll crack a bit over 40000
Hawks - Thursday night game ...
Giants - under 35000
Melbourne - under 35000
Adelaide - once again we'll boost their average

They will be relying on opposition fans - puffers here giving away tickets fast as they can

Can't see them achieving anything like 2015 numbers......
Expect they'll be back at the AFL begging table soon ....

Who can forget this classic from D_One/John Hart Jnr about Port using tarps.

D_One/John Hart Jnr said:
A brilliant idea from a club that has been ahead of its rivals for the best part of 140 years.

The Port Adelaide Football Club (est. 1870) and the AFL have long known that Football Park is too big for Port's supporter base. They also know it's too small for the Camry Crows. It's not a case of one size fits all. Port wants a 35K stadium whilst the Camry Crows require a 60K+ stadium.

The solution is obvious. Turn Football Park into a smaller stadium (initially 44K), make some dollars out of the advertising and bring the vocal and passionate port supporters closer together to fire each other up and create an even more intimidating atmosphere. Absolutely brilliant.

Prediction: other clubs, eg Melbourne, Roos, Dogs, etc will soon follow our lead.
