something is off about port. talent on every line. but when you take a hard look at the talent. you realise it isn't the best.

midfield of wines, rozee, butters, horne farncis, drew,...etc.
Personally, i would take the carlton midfield, healthy and motivated collingwood midfield, Melbourne, perhaps the dogs, sydneys for sure, maybe even the brisbane midfield if its up and going and gws. forgot us potentially.

lots of talent in the forward line. but I would take, Adelaide, eagles with allen back, carltons, geelongs, gws, perhaps us if we figure it out.

defence is good, but would take melbournes, ours, gws, sydney, healthy motivated brisbane, healthy motivated collingwood, geelong.

they seem to challenge top 4 because as a collective they have no major spuds in the team. consistently good across the whole ground. but, where do you actually fear them. midfield perhap. but the best teams have a midfield that is just as good. everyone has a good midfield.

its not that i underrate them. but simply they play a style where you rely upon the midfield and half forward/ half back flankers. their problem is i would take other sides in a 1 vs 1 in this area of the ground. gws, sydney, motivated collingwood, carlton, melbourne

Yes, comes back to what our own club has said - it's better to be predictable than unpredictable. Even if the oppo know what's coming, it's still more beneficial that your teammates know exactly what your tendencies are. The opposition can never know you as well as your own teammates.
This doesn't mean that we don't pull the odd surprise, just that we don't make massive changes to the point where we suddenly become unpredictable to each other, and look disorganised as a result.

They're missing a big body though. Both Rozee and Butters are 'small' and Wines/Drew are not big enough to compensate. How much better do we look now that we have Fyfe and Young rotating through to give the big body support? That larger body seems quite necessary to me.

But the pace and power is nutty, particularly when JHF hits 24. Can find some size to feed it out easy enough

Wines is big enough, he's just nearly as good as he was 2-3 years ago. JHF will very soon be big enough as well.

I'm with Snuff, I'd take them first if building a team unless we do get Chad. Then I am taking us.
