The only reason this isn't a huge blowout is because we're playing an average side coached by Ross Lyon. Any decent side would have absolutely hammered us

That was a miskick from wingard. Lol.
goal anyway.

who said the final score will be the same as the first quarter?

wallpapering.

not even worth a review. Groundhog stuff

see you next week.

I don't think freo don't score because they are awful, I just think that is their play style. I could be wrong but the only explanation I can come up with for the first half scoreline, is that fremantle deliberately create no-score situations meaning the scoreline stays roughly the same. Not sure how they do it though, but Ross Lyon's Saint Kilda was the same (albeit a ****load more talented).

Also, Matthew Pavlich proves yet again how shit he is. Dirty player who is so far overrated its not funny.

On our performance: that was shit.

Only saw the last quarter and what the hell.. looked like if we played another half we'd thrash them.

Outstanding result for Primus and co.

Play horrific deplorable football against a mediocre team that took its foot off the pedal at QT, claim we stuck with them for three quarters, "we just need to improve our starts/play four quarters".

His boosters cite the lowish losing margin as further evidence we're on the right path.

I would be dark if I were a freo fan

Yep......WA rellies are Freo members/nuts have gone ballistic.............can't repeat..... Opinion of Lyon and his tactics were somewhat descriptive.

One thing, the PAFC will need only a part timer in the membership section for 2013...........gunna be a lonely place..........

Would prefer to see Primus being at his most humblest and do a "Tim Watson" and salvage some of his otherwise outstanding reputation.

Primus doesn't know the meaning of "humble". A humble person and club man would have relinquished the captaincy in 2005 to the reigning premiership captain and best player in the league at the time. A humble person and club man would have concentrated soley on getting his knee right and just playing football. A humble person and club man wouldn't have pushed the captaincy issue to a player vote, potentially causing a split in the playing group, and threatening to derail a premiership defence. A humble person and club man would have realised his own limitations and not even applied for a head coaching job when it became available. A humble person and club man would know when he's failed, admit his mistake and gracefully walk away from the job for the good of the club.

..... Poor coaching/plan for us, but what was worse was the actual skill execution and above all, the terrible dumb, stupid decision making by half the bloody team. How can that be coached out of them? How can the skills of mature footballers we improved? ...
Based on todays game we clearly have the dumbest players in the AFL. Can they be coached out of that? It would seem not by Primus. No game plan, no structures, NFI

.... Do we 'encourage' guys like Chappy to go, or do we keep him because we have no replacement?
Where would he go? He is a player bereft of skill and confidence.

I've been a Port supporter for a long time. I used to look forward to the end of the minor round - to see us play in the finals. Now I look forward to the season's end for a completely different reason - not having to endure anymore painful losses.

Every week, Port players direct their I50 entries to the boundary line instead of to the top of the square. This clearly demonstrates two things.

1) Primus is nothing but a Choco clone. That was Choco's gameplan.
2) Primus is set in his ways and has little to no feel for the game. If those two statements weren't true, he would've realized that the only reason Choco used that gameplan was because we had Lade, and now we have one of the worst ruck divisions in the competition.

Primus or Hocking will be on 5AA during the week explaining that we don't mean to do it and we'd like Brett/the midfield to do this and that.

Here's a remedy. Drop him.

I don't even blame Brett anymore. It's not his fault that Daniel Stewart is such a pathetic excuse for a footballer that Brett is a better KPF than him despite being a foot shorter than him.

And where's Boydman's flamming of Wingard again taking on opponents and getting pinged HTB?? Jacob's ain't alone in his brain farts.

Were you at the game or were you watching at home? Wingard had absolutely no other option then than to try to take him on. There were 4 Dockers players inside our 50 and not a single Port player.

Cornes is our BOG today.

I love Kane, but that is not a good sign for our club.

Cornes was terrible today. Everything I hated about his game last year was back. No impact with his disposals, and constantly calling for cheap stats that added nothing to the team.

...

At the game and it happened within perfect viewpoint. Being one of the last forwards to push up the ground he should have been aware no other forwards were there to use, he should have handed the ball straight back to Pfeiffer(?) who had earnt the free, so our forwards could reset.... or kicked it long to the empty square as he was ruining himself in to trouble. Wingard isnt as quick or evasive as he thinks as he showed then and nearly once in every other game he has played.

As I said he shouldn't have taken the ADV... But once he had a possible turnover deep near goal square was better than certain turnover 50m out.

I'd say it was a possible turnover 50 metres out (he might've taken him on, he's pretty good at it) and a certain turnover deep near the goalsquare (there were 4 Dockers and no Port players, there was nowhere useful he could've kicked it unless he managed to get himself within range), but even then I disagree. At least getting tackled kept the ball where it was. If he'd kicked it into the 50, he would've done Freo's switching work for them.

Good argument.

Can you explain why trying to take on a player (something that might work) and losing is less of a sure turnover than kicking it to 4 Dockers players without a Port player anywhere near them (something that definitely won't)?

Can you explain why it's better for an opposition team to have the ball 60 metres out from our goal on the boundary line where the majority of the players on the field are to congest their ball movement rather than 30 metres out on the opposite side of the ground where they heavily outnumber us? If the latter wasn't a preferable option, no team would ever kick backwards.

you cannot be srs!

Agree with this.
Evidenced by Kornes running around the back to receive a UFH just on the 50m arc (not sure which of our players had the ball), then look to chip it over the guy on the mark only to have it smoothered.

I was flipping ropeable...

He called for the ball at a half-hearted jogging pace and then looked to chip it not much further up the ground .... WTF!
If you're going to run around the back and call for the ball ... you are going to have a shot on goal or put it quickly to the top of the square. It's basic under 10s football smarts.

This from our senior and experienced players FFS!

Don't even get me started on Dom and his backwards-sideways work.

It's no wonder our young blokes are dejected and devoid of any confidence.
