List the positives for tonight.

The margin was only 5 goals in the end. Last season a performance like that would have yielded a 100 point loss....we're slowly getting there

Bower, Betts and Jamison these three have improved out of sight!

Grigg, and Gibbs are continually improving, these two will have good 2nd half of the seasons imo.

Browne reminds me of Murphy two of them would be awesome :thumbsu:

Setanta did a reasonable job on a rampaging Brown, I love this guy he took it to Brown and just gave it to him. Waite is great on guys who lead hard and run all over the place like Riewoltd, but he was thrown out of the contest too easily by Brown. For now and until Waite can get angry, I'd rather see Setanta on guys like Brown (though there isn't too many out there).

Basically after Qtr time we kept going and fought back! Dissapointing Stevo had a shocker on his 200th

P.S. (sorry to ruin the whole positive thing, but I have to vent) I was all for Ackland being given another chance but please please please Ratts don't ever select him again. His ruck work was pathetic, Kruezer had the same hitouts as him given much less time. Also he had 2 shocking handball turnovers that lead to Brisbane goals in the first qtr. Wtf is with his tackling? He just missed players that he should have tackled....maybe he needs glasses!

won a fourth quarter....

hopefully the boys knuckle down and realise getting this club back on top isnt a cake walk. some serious training and hunger needs to happen for the freo game.

For mine, the positives were:

-We fought the game out. I know we say this a lot, but it's true. In past years, I have no doubt that we would have given up and been belted probably by a margin close to 100 points. Credit to most of the boys, they didn't give up and we managed to hold them for the rest of the game, and win the 4th quarter which was a pleasing effort.

-Brendan Fevola. I don't care what opposition supporters say, he has changed. For the most part, the delivery to him was quite poor, but he didn't give up. He continued to lead, present an option, and fight for the ball - his 2nd and 3rd efforts are to be commended. Kicking 4 goals on a night like that is a great effort, I only wish he had his kicking boots on from the beginning of the match and he could have kicked 8 with ease.

-Jamison. For the first half was our best player. Bradshaw is a star and to keep him quiet is a great effort that cannot be underestimated. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious as he is quickly becoming an excellent defender and an integral part of our future down back.

-Bower. Continues his rapid improvement into a pretty solid player. Is improving every game and is a vital component of our young backline.

-Murph. He is all class. A couple of mistakes, but he wasn't alone. Is as tough as nails, usually a brilliant user of the ball. He's a gem.

-Kreuze. Was more effective in the ruck than Ackland. Some of the things he does as a 19 year old ruckman defy belief. Unfortunately didn't kick that goal which would have been an absolute ripper. Great signs.

-Gibbs. Continues to improve with each game but is played all over the place. Hopefully we start playing him on a half forward flank and through the middle for entire games. I didn't like him at full forward.

-Wiggins. I have been calling for this to happen for a very long time. PLAY HIM UP FORWARD! Thankfully we got to see it last night once again, and it works. He provides a great smaller option that can chip in for a few goals here and there which is invaluable. Has terrific hands and always gives 110% regardless of the scoreboard.

-Betts. Was quieter last night but still works his little butt off. He's finding his niche as a half forward type that will present all night and can spend a bit of time in the middle.

Brownie was a little quiter last night but still impresses with his poise. Looks to be a real player.

i thought wiggins was great, would be in carltons best 22 from now on if he gets preforming like that. was definately one of our best.. also good signs when fev has a shocker and still kicks 5.. I never really rated wiggins although there has always been something about him..

The backline were good. I think we need Waite forward but he was allright after Q time - it was the coach's error putting him on Brown. How anyone can criticize Scotland is beyond me, after reading some of it, paid him particular attention when viewing replay and his possies were all real - there were no keepings off possies amongst them.

Maybe Stevo did too much boxing down Warrnambool on the weekend off? (Craig Hutchison story today's Sunday Herald Sun)

Apologies Blue_Boys for more or less duplicating this thread with my 'watch it again' thread - didn't spot this

The biggest positive for me was Kreuzer's attitude. To me he seems to be close to the most confident and committed player in the side. He just gives such a strong and honest contest. I really think he should be highlighted to the whole list as to the sort of mental application we would want from our players.
