In that last quarter against Carlton, we must have won first possession out of the centre square at half of the bounce downs. Gray, Boak and one or two others seemed to be getting a quick kick out of the middle for it to hit the ground around our half forward line, typically on the members side, and then get run back their way with ridiculous ease.
So who's fault is that? Are the half forwards not contesting well enough? Were our forward structures all wrong to the point that prevented us capitalising on centre square clearances? Were the mids just jamming the ball forward without enough care?
May be all of the above, but the problem didn't seem to be winning the centre square clearance, despite the fact we got massacred in that quarter.
