Yeah, lets all copy what North Melbourne do because they have had so much success recently
Yeah, let's all ignore demon_dynasty's perfectly valid point on our four very much capable backup (and in Martin and Spencer's case, potentially first) ruckmen.

B - MacDonald Frawley Garland
HB - Watts McDonald Nicholson
C - Grimes Jones Trengrove
HF - Blease Dawes Bail
FF - Byrnes Clark Howe
R - Jamar Sylvia Mckenzie
I/C - Martin Viney Dunn

Sub - Tapscott

The bolded are players who I have just put there simply because there is no better alternative. Having 3 "fillers" in a team isn't that bad I guess. We are improving boys!

If he didn't ignore it means he couldn't be a negative, boring, generic pain in the ass.

And the initial comment was in reply to you wanting Clark as the main backup ruckman, but hey, let's not let that get in the way of your massive hissy fit

It wasn't me who made that post, but hey, let's not let facts get in the way of a good story. :)

Garland Frawley Strauss
Grimes McDonald watts
Blease viney trengove
Howe Dawes Sylvia
Byrnes Clark pedersen
Jamar jones Mckenzie
Int. taggert wines gysberts tapscott

Wrong.

Go back a few pages. My post was in response to YOU.
I said Dawes can't ruck. That was it. Don't derive otherwise.

Anyway, interesting to note Dunn on the fringe of the last few teams...think he's proved to be important down back even if, as a tall defender, he structurally doesn't suit.

You were the one making "corrections" to melbournemartin's post. I am just reading it as I see it.

If I am misinterpreting, then please take this opportunity to clarify the intent of that post.

I said earlier that I'm not a fan of doing Best 22s this early... I will do this much:

FB: Garland Frawley _____
HB: Watts McDonald _______
C: Grimes Jones Trengove
HF: Howe Dawes Sylvia
FF: _____ Clark ______
R: Jamar Viney McKenzie
IC: _____ ______ _____ ______

Those obviously being automatic selections, the players who (barring catastrophe) I would expect to certainly line up Round 1. Blease probably the closest to being added to that group, but apart from that it falls to all the other kids to really step up and cement their spots next year. Bail, Tapscott, Strauss, Nicholson, Martin, Dunn, Macdonald, Sellar (not kids) and Gysberts (if still around) fall into that category - all had varying levels of success this year, but all need to improve a fair bit if they want to be starting players for a high-quality team. In other words, based on their current form, they would not play many games in a Top 4 team.
Byrnes is a bit of an unknown, but I would expect him to play. Tynan and Taggert, as others have said, basically count as fresh draftees along with whoever we bring in this year - hopefully we see them playing well at Casey, staying injury-free and putting pressure on the guys listed above to perform in the big time.

Byrnes is automatic, no doubt about it.

I also think Nicholson is probably automatic these days. Even when fit, Bartram would be no certainty to get a game ahead of him.

You're right though, definitely more than a couple of places up for grabs.

Petterd, Morton, Bail , Magner, Gawn and Tynan to all prove their worth in the reserves, while Dunn and Tapscott our main emrgencies.

I'm surprised we have so many depth players, the thing main thing is effort.

- Hopefully the club has moved on Jetta and Bennell, along with Cook to free up some space.

excluding players such as pederson and ray who look likely as becoming melbourne players as no trades have been finalised

B: Dunn Frawley Garland

C: Blease Viney Trengove
HF: Howe Clark Tapscott
F: Byrnes Dawes Sylvia
R: Jamar McKenzie Jones
Int: Watts Gysberts pick 4
Sub: Rodan
Emerg: Martin Magner MacDonald

From what I have heard Clark will not be right for round 1. His injury is very serious and may miss a large chunk of 2013

ill do this properly at the close of trades today, since we could be losing a few guys today as well as bringing a few in

The first two parts may be true, if we're being cautious... but he won't miss more then the first 2-3 rounds unless he has a setback IMO.

Sellar over Garland?? he isnt a defender in my books also cant be back pocket and /bench

Bartram over Nicho is fit imo, is proven even if some dont think so

We recruited Byrnes to play and i would guess him or Rodan to start on a flank or a pocket

Watts on teh HBF not back pocket but that is justa positional move imo
