and its at this stage of the season where all the teams on bigfooty start to look exactly the same with 1 or 2 variations. Just about pointless asking for feedback.

Once again its up to the trades.

Definetly not a bad team but I think not having Swan may hurt you, I like Hurley in defence as I was going to place him in my team and still may as im tweaking it around a bit. He should have a good year.

Boak, selwood, pendlebury should definetly improve on their already good avg's. Unsure on Higgins but hes crossed my mind a bit.

Instead of Pav id say try get sylvia I rekn hes gonna have a great year (not that pav wont do well just rekn sylvia will excel higher). Rioli in Forwards would be a great choice too but then again with buddy there it makes the byes a bit of a concern.

My Team

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Otten, Heppell

Toy(Emerg), Puopolo, Duigan

Mids: Swan (capt), Montagna (v.capt), Bartel, Anthony, Swallow, Conca

Hibberd, Atley, Harris(Emerg)

Rucks: Cox, Mumford

Z.Smith, Derrickx

Forwards: Franklin, Sylvia, Reiwoldt, Rioli, Knights, Petrie, Krakouer

Richardson(Emerg), Prestia, I.Smith

Rem. Salary Cap: $5,600

Pretty happy with my backline and midfield. Just tossing up whether I should move players around to be able to afford Cox, Sandi duo.

And I know petrie wont play rnd 1 and 3, but it saves a trade keeping him because I'd grab him come rnd 4
anyway

or

Instead of Petrie I was thinking of Astbury or maybe Gamble and spending the extra 50k to upgrade someone else

Any comments would be great, cheers

If you are going to put Petrie in the forward line then why not put J Tippet in ruck instead of Z Smith and you can rotate Tippet into ruck to cover for the rucks byes.

Joel Tippet doesn't look likely to play. Word is that Smith is the only one of the young rucks who is ready to play. There is no need to stuffing around with your side just for the sake of an MPP which in reality won't do to much good.

My side
B Goddard, Gibbs, Enright, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Hibberd, Lower, Duigan, Batchelor
M Selwood, Pendlebury, Swallow, Krakouer, Heppell, Harris, Bewick, Savage, Atley
R Sandilands, Cox, Smith, Moran
F Franklin, Sylvia, Harvey, Goodes, Riewoldt, Brown, Gamble, Matera, Richardson, Darling

35.6k remaining.

B Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Otten, Lower [D. Stanley, Duigan, Heppell[

The team above (not mine) is the last one posted before you commented that "all the teams on bigfooty start to look exactly the same with 1 or 2 variations".

Of the 10 backs I have 6 the same.

Of the 9 mids I have 3 the same.

Of the 4 rucks I have 2 the same.

Of the 10 forwards I have 5 the same.

Of the 33 players he lists I have approx. half that are the same, which is certainly far from "1 or 2 variations". And with trading they'll be enough of a discrepancy between teams.

Personally I think that your back and forward lines are too packed with premiums, I would get rid of one of Enright or Broughton in the backline and probably Brown from your forward line. You need at least one more gun in the midfield, Swallow will not score as much as everyone thinks as the Gold Coast will get pumped more often than not this year, meaning he is likely to throw out scores in the 40s from time to time. Same goes for all of Krakouer, Heppell and Harris and when you have the Geelong and Collingwood byes your midfield is really going to struggle for points. Just my opinion but I think that the forward and back line rookies are going to provide similar cover and go up in value just as much as the midfield rookies this year. 2-4 midfield is too risky for my liking and at the end of the day the midfield premiums are the highest scoring players, why not get as many as possible into your team.

McCauley is playing rd 1?

people are picking him as a 4th ruckman, lions has been consistant in having a long term injury to 1 of their ruckman, if it happens again this season, McCauley will come right in and take that injured ruckmans place. And he is cheap, played some seniors in preseason

Just changed a few of my bench players around plus my final on field midfielder, also swapped a backman for a team mate down back also.

Goddard, Deledio, Grundy, Hibberd, Grimes, Duffield, Otten
(Buckley, Lower, Duigan)

Hayes, J Selwood, Pendlebury, Gibbs, Rockliff, Heppell
(D Swallow, R Bewick, Atley)

Sandilands, R Warnock
(Bailey, McCauley)

Sylvia, Goodes, Riewoldt, Pavlich, Higgins, Krakouer, C Richardson
(McKernan, Darling, Michie)

Still not sure on Riewoldt, his preseason and his new kicking at goal action has really dissapointed me.

My max projected round 1 score is 2121 but that doesnt take into account the rookies & 1st year players, plus clearly it doesnt take into account possible improvment by injury plagued players from 2010.

So i'd be dissapointed if i scored under 2000 round 1. Par for me would be 2050-2150 I reckon

I'll post this again, this is pretty much my final lineup in time for Thursdays 1st match of the season. Feedback would be hugley welcomed.

At least it's different...interesting side.

You do realise Mzunga and Callinan are injured?

Hrmm I am trying a few different players this year.....I usually do my reserves last minute but thanks for the heads up....

I've been fiddling around with a mid-pricer strategy, and quite like the look of this team. Opinions?

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Delideo, Grimes, H Taylor, Everitt, Otten (Stanley, Lower, Duigan)
Mids: Swan, J Selwood, Pendlebury, Goodes, Foley, Harris (Bewick, Hibberd, I Smith)
Rucks: Sandilands, Cox (Smith, Derickx)
Forwards: N Riewoldt, Franklin, Duncan, Nahas, Yarran, Knights, Krakouer (Richardson, Matera, Darling)

4k in the bank.

I'm taking a risk in having Petrie in my rucks hoping Keffee/Smith will be able to cover and also having Swann and Pendulbury in the same team. But I like taking high risk for high reward.

Well I'll give you credit for one thing..... it's different :) Lots of potentially risky mid-priced picks, I reckon you'd be better off picking 2 (Hunt and Hocking stick out to me) and making one a rookie, and the other a premium. I also don't know how Curnow and Irons will go for getting games. Kudos for sticking out though, and hey it could work out for you.
